grumman
I need to replace my indicator stalk, and I believe the steering wheel has to come off.Has anyone done this themselves, and if so how easy is it/how do you do it.I assume the airbag will have to come off (with battery disconnected of course). Jowey
there are 2 small holes on the back of the steering wheel 180' from each other.in the bottom of each hole there is a 'clip' which secures the airbag to the wheel.turn the wheel 90' so that one hole is at the bottom of the wheelinsert a flat head screw driver into the hole and un-clip the clip (I think you have to lift it out towards the edge of the steering wheel)do the same for the opposite hole. The airbag/ steering wheel center should now be unfastened and once all electrical connectors are disconnected; can be removed. From there on in its pretty obvious what needs to be unscrewed, disconnected etc.
grumman
Thanks for that, I managed to get it off, clean up the slip ring (no more smoke from housing) and best of all replacing the stalk has cured the click, click , click of the indicator relay at random times.
