hiya everyone

i am looking to buy a 1.4 tdi sport and was wondering what to look out for problems recalls etc

i had a 1.4 s petrol but coming back to my lupo roots and getting a derv now

my trusty derv golf has racked up 209,000 and that doesnt smoke that often lol

Only problem i have came across so far is the temp gauge has a mind of its own. it just goes up and down, we have leanred to just ignore it :)

mine has 55k on it and runs like new :)

And tigz :P i havnt seen a could of smoke yet :D it just sounds like a tractor thats all :P

I did 34K in my Arosa TDi in 2 and a half years, sold it with 60K on, the engine was superb, very nippy and economical. They feel a lot better than the 1.4S petrol in my opinion.

Cant say i have come across many TDI only problems, they are actually the most reliable, as they have strong gearboxes and dont have the failing pedal boxes, unlike the others (except GTi).

cool makes it easier for buying knowing what to look out for

seen a few around the £2600 - £2900 mark all with fairly low mileage
