Mate.

If you cut out the plastic ring under the grill.

Then make a mdf rind (dont meen as extreme as in the picture.) just the same size as the flat section of the door card.

Then some bot and nuts, and bolt it throught the door card, through another MDF ring on the oppisite side.

Then attach the speaker to the MDF.

The grill will cover the MDF up, if you dont use too thick MDF.

If you can get away with that then yes.

But it is possable that you may need to bring the all the way out.

(I did on mine, and the JBL is quite a chunky rear end isnt it?)

If not, just fit another ring to the front of the door card, and the speaker and grill on top of them.

Nothing wrong with JBL mate.

Its not for me, but the quality seems pretty good.

Ask Max about the JBL SPL van we saw at Donny this year :?

I also watched someone feeding nearly 2k wrms through one and it took over 10 minutes to pop!

I think thats the speakers i stuck in mine. Components right? The tweeters need to be gutted but u can get the jbl's in the original housings. I went halfords and bought some plastic spacer rings for an astra mk3 for £10. They push the speaker out about an inch and a half to meet the standard grill. fitted mint.

Yes they are, but whats the point in spending money when you can get it done for a couple of quid.

The plastic rings are ok and simple, but the problem is they flex so you will lose any of the extra possablity of creating any mid bass from your new midrange speakers.
