Hey Guys

My Exhaust Emissions Light has just come on after refueling at a pertrol station

i have read the manual it tells me to get the car checked by Vw asap.

Any suggestions what might have caused this or what it could be?

Is this a serious light?

Cheers!

its your engine light mate, poss some crap has cause it to come on, is the car running bad or is it ok? what petrol did you use to fill up with?

The car is running normal no real difference, i filled up at Bp station £15

Does this make a difference?

Cheers.

I have just had the same thing on my 1.4, i need to use it tomorrow! is it life threatening? Engine appears to be running fine. I just want to know if i can drive it untill I can see a mechanic or if I need to stop driving it immediately.

Many thanks from worried lupo owner!

Dont worry about it, its not detremental if its still driving fine. Just get it to a dealer to find out what the fault code is when you can and then post it up here.

Someone will have a cure for it, dont waste your money!

Cool, thanks mate, I know someone who has a diagnostic programme so i'll take it to them in the evening after work, just needed toknow if I shouldn't drive it. It really tells you nothing in the handbook so I'm glad of your help!

Does anybody know what causes it to come on? Mines on now for the 4th time

Mine came on when I fitted an aftermarket HU, plugging it straight in to the car's harness. Just got a wiring harness from Halfords which sorted it out. They can come if you have a faulty Lamba sensor. Oh, and try cleaning your airbox/TB.
