Turniptop
I have just joined today! So Hi everybody. We (wife & I) own a 2001 1.4 Auto, which is a great little car.Unfortunately, there is an intermitent fault where the "check" warning light comes on and this is now being followed (not always) by the "EPC" light. I took the car to the local VW dealer who put her on the diagnostic but they couldn't locate the problem. Now the motor ocassionally cuts out when slowing for a road junction. Sadly, I have little faith in the local VW dealership as every time I have had occasion to pass a vehicle over to them their sole intent seems to be to flush as much money as possible from me for totally unrelated items. I have an acquaintance who's daughter also had a Lupo with a similar problem and their solution was to sell the car! This is a bit extreme and I like the car. Can anybody please tell me whether this is a common fault with Lupo's OR what is the fault. My feeling is that the engine ECU could be faulty. Can anybody please provide some guidance or input to help. Thanks Peeps
Digital
Sounds like a fuel sensor problem, I had similar experiences to that in a non-vw car. The fuel sensor was faulty, causing a lack of fuel at low speeds. It could be worth speaking to a different VW dealer.
Max69vk
Always worth giving the throttle body a good cleaning before trying anything else
Gibbeth!
Dont know what the light problem is, but the cutting out at junctions sounds very much like the thorttle body needs cleaning, an easy fix!
