Vento_Gareth
Hi chaps,Just got a nice black TDi with only 45k miles and I'm looking to do a few tweaks in the coming months.1) Need your input on remap options, who to go to and what price, what power and torque have you been getting from standard? Anybody had any bad maps or problems with the car after mapping?2) Just fitted Ronal Turbo's and the car looks like an off road vehicle, need coilovers to drop the car 100mm, any suggestions on a limited budget?3) Can you get black rear VW badges to replace the OE chrome badge? Rich
1). don't have a TDI so can't really say. 2). you don't drop loop's 100, driveshafts will rub. if it's on a budget get a decent set of shocks and springs.3). badges are the same as the mk4 so go look on the bay, mine cost me eight quid delivered. RichP.S. nice vento.

Top guy, very friendly and knowledgeable.lupo is pulling like a train, and it's only putting out half the boost it should at the moment, will be a right chuckle when i sort the boosting issue out. Vento_Gareth
A very nice car mate, are you putting throttle bodies on the Lupo? Hey how come you didn't get the ladys with the tattoes? The Lupo is staying fairly standard for now with just rims, suspension and a re-map in mind. Can't believe they stuck the rough looking bird on the cover, the other girl looked pretty fit even with the tats. Elliott did offer some UK porn star with huge tits to be in my feature (he sent me a link to her web page and everything) but I thought it would look well tacky so I said no. Vento_Gareth
are you joking ?What, about the porn star you mean? No joke he got the contact through his mate in the US who uses girls all the time on this other magazine! I just think it's a bit Max Power and tacky if you ask me. I didn't want people talking about my feature just because of some girl with big tits.

Proper impressed! You can't go wrong with a Lupo or Arosa TDi, My Vento is 300bhp and I tell you what I got in the little Lupo and had so much fun driving home for the first time. I've only had the car a couple of days but I think there great little cars. You will be well surprised at just how nippy the TDi is even in standard spec. I will say the suspension is soft but then again I am use to a race set-up in the Vento. My first purchase will be coilovers followed my a remap and that I'm sure will be a fun car to have.If you do get into the VW scene, get yourself a copy of Performance VW and try edition38.com, pretty good bunch of chaps on there. Si599
CHeers for the information mate! U got any footage of ur Vento on Youtube.com?Do u know what kinda of gains from Remapping a 1.4TDi, You see i havent got a clue really so is it possible to fit a bigger Turbo on it as well?***EDIT***Just been onto Celtic Tuning & they are saying they can take the 1.4TDi from 73bhp to 105BHP. Thats not really a bad little jump is it! Hmmmmmm Edited September 25, 2007 by Si599

Thats not really a bad little jump is it! HmmmmmmThere are guys running 117bhp from the 1.4 TDi engine with a bit more tuning than just a remap. I have heard it's possible with some modifications to bolt the turbo from a 130 TDi engine and see 120bhp but believe me you wont need much more than a remap to be happy. 105bhp from a remap sounds about right then with the exhaust and induction kit fitted you can get a few extra hp.If you do a search for gareth spiller or ITB Vento on you tube you will get a few clips of the car. I think the one taken behind the grandstand at Santa Pod at GTI Festival this year is the best or the dyno clip at full chat at 162mph!
