Clouseau Posted June 30, 2007 Report Share Posted June 30, 2007 in korea a new law is coming out where anyone posting on an internet forum must 1st register with proven identification and social security number/ address details. this is to stop the messages that would in face to face situations be counted as abuse or scandalous. so legal action can be taken against the forum poster if they make wrongful/hurtful comments.there is talk of this kind of law being used generally worldwide.i support privacy in general on the internet, but in this specific forum area i think laws do need to be introduced.at the moment our law can allow us to command an ISP to close the website/forum that the abusive messaging occurs, but there is no real facility for pursuing court action against the individual that makes it.
