How much power

 Share

Recommended Posts

Basically i bought some mb quart 216 rce.

They are 4ohm and can take 60-130wrms says the website.

How much power would be enough for these speakers as they are 6.5" comps that will be sitting in my door and im trying to choose an amp.

Basically ive seen one at 100wrms, 120wrms , 180wrms or 250wrms.

Which one should i go for? The one that will give me the most power, without blowing up my comps.

What does a highpass lowpass do?

Thanks biggrin.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

go for 180w RMS amp, have it set up professionally though...

If you dont already know what highpass and lowpass are, then my advice would be dont mess with them...

Their basically a crossover type setup, which either A- Lowpass - Blocks treble going to a subwoofer

B- Highpass - Blocks very low bass going to a midbass driver.

If your sub is 200wrms then your components want around 50wmrs.

If your sub is 300wrms then your going to want at least 75wrms.

Will not hurt to have more than this though smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
