Tyre/wheel help

Recommended Posts

I picked up a set of new wheels last night, same size as my kyalami's- 14"

The only difference is the width, standards are 5.5 whereas these are 6.5.

The car came with 2 brand new tyres when I got it about 3 weeks ago.

One of the tyres on the new set had a big nail in it, so it got replaced this morning.

Two other of the tyres on the new set have skimpy tread.

Now, Im planning to swap over 2 tyres from the the standards to the new. Will the tyre peeps do this? (I went to HI-Q) Or will they frown and say no?

Then once thats done, I'll have 2x5.5 and 2x6.5. Whouldnt it be wise to put the 6.5 on the front instaed of the back? Or does it not matter too much.

TBH 1" wont make that much difference so the tyres fitters shouldn't have any problems with swapping the tyres over. As for whether to put the wider wheels up front.... Its going to be more of a presonal preference thing really, for me wider wheels on the back will look better & as long as you dont drive like a tit (which Im sure you dont) the 5.5j rims up front will make minimal difference to the grip/handling.

I didnt think it would make much of a driving difference, just would visually. Im a bit of a grandma driver tbh lol. Maybe I'll get a Micra next.

H'okay, thats some good info for me to think on. Cheers Max

Fingers crossed the centre bore will be reet now lol.
