martineaster
hi,Just got a Lupo 1.4 S and I have started to notice that on some occasions, particulary towrds the end of longuish journey, that the engine seems to cut whenever I seem to change down to 1st gear. When I depress the clutch in preparation to changing to 1 st, the rpm drops to below 500 rpm and dies on me.Don't think its the battery as it starts up fine and I don't think it's driver error but just wondering if any of you guys experienced the same and what you think the diagnosis is? M1 Lupo
Have you tried blipping the throttle when your changing down? I know its not a solution, but a friend has this exact same problem in his car. Only way we found to stop the revs dipping too low.
paulbin
i think the polo boys have this problem, its to do with a throttle position sensor or water temperature sensor, there only about £20 quid from the dealers and easy to fit if i remember correctly, but dont quote me on it.best do a search on http://porka.net/index.php Edited June 26, 2005 by paulbin
