Py02
I've recently acquired a 1.7 SDI and was hoping to put a tow bar on, to pull a small camping trailer.Opinions seem to vary, Witter say a complete no-go, but the VW manual actually gives weights etc, so must be kosher.Anyone done similar, and if so, what supplier? Bosal? Edited July 2, 2015 by Py02

Py02
Thanks to sausage and mattaroas, I have bought and fitted a bar from Bosal, and all seems (finally) well. The fitting instructions failed to mention that the heat shield was difficult to wriggle out, and also that the bolts through the "chassis" tubes were a mother to fit, but the bar is on, wired and ready to go.Thanks again for the replies, I'll perhaps take a couple of photos and post.Paul
