  1. anyone know their stuff about wheels and adapters then i need to achieve a 35 or 40mm offset using porsche carrera cup alloys and spacers... now there's a challenge for you!
  2. phoned up loads of different places today to get a set of BBS RC in 7.5 x 17 4x100 pcd and everyone said no discontinued style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> only ones similar are the RX in high silver finish not chrome. how pissed off am I! i really wanted those on the lupo too think it'll have to be the rx instead or a porsch replica with adapters or maybe the 5 stud rc's with adapters what do you guys think. oh p.s. cars in the bodyshop mid march also been offerd to have lambogini style doors fitted as well as them being smoothed for a bit extra money what do you guys think?
  3. another thing what tyres and wheel width are you both running? i was thinking of 7.5 x 17's with 215 40 17 tyres unless you say otherwise.
  4. hmm interesting thanx for that i might try and get 40mm offset then and get the best of both worlds then. is there much difference in apperance between the two offsets or is it not rally that noticable?
  5. Hi Guys as you may already know i'm getting some new wheels on the lupo but could really do with knowing the correct offset for 17's i know it's been posted before but cannot find it. if i remember correctly it was 38 wich rubbed on the calipers and 40 needed a bit more arch work to make them fit, can anyone give me a DEFINATE answer as to what offset i need as i'm going to order them by mail order and save myself around £300 by doing so.
  6. i was given a price for a nearly new 1.8t tuned to 250 BHP for £6,000 all in.
  7. hmm i'll have to print it out and have it ready for mr copper to read when he pulls me for having it mounted below the back bumper!
  8. not me i'll have my lupo all polished up so don't wanna get it all dirty. But if i get a certain engine involving the letter T at the end of it dropped into the lupo by then i might take it on the strip! lol
  9. i'm up for it! lets say feck you to GTI internatinal organisers and have a better time at santapod!
  10. i had a minidisk unit in my *ahem pardon me nova. only problem with minidisk is they rattle if you leave them lying about. I discovered the joy of MP3 headunits about 2 years ago only trouble is i put about 100 songs on a cd then forget wich number they are on there style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  11. oh another thing the spoiler on LoudLupo's 1.4 s is actually the same as the seat arosa item and also the TDI and 1.4s lupo. the spoiler on the GTI is slightly smaller and the break light sits higher up and goes onto the top of the spoiler (can't explan properly but it sort of sits right at the top at the back with about 1cm of red visable from directly above, wheras the other vw items ant the arosa one has the light at the bottom of the spoiler and ending about 1cm before the tip of the spoiler)
  12. cant do the 11nd i've got a local VW event to go to in Staffordshire!
  13. didnt know a 1.4 s could look so nice loudlupo! although i'm not too sure about the sprayed badge, i'm waiting for a bodyshop to quote me on filling the recess behind it and spraying the boot to make it a bit smoother!
  14. all these questions lol. it does sound better yes not like all these bad boy racers air filters more of a subtle noise but still nice sounding. (if that makes any sence.) i've got a pipercross oil breather seperate and attached that to the end of the breather pipe this also catches the oil and needs to be cleaned every 6 months. Although i think it actually is an MOT failiure item as you cannot let the gasses from oil breathers escape to atmosphere thats why they go back into the air intake on the orriginal airbox. Not got any pictures yet as i've just bodged it on at the moment but i'll be getting some proper pipework made up to give it a better air feed and to tidy everything up too.
  15. there's a kroozin live show in uttoxeter my home town (It's organised by Motorworld) nothing like GTI international but it could be an excuse for a meet! last year they held it at santapod but this year it's near me.
  16. i'm guessing it's the wrong one for the car as big companies like that take a lot of time ensuring that everythig is in the kit and that it fits properly. i have a universal pipercross viper on mine and i had to make that fit. Did you know that a "performance air filter" that sits in your engine bay actually decreases engine power as instead of sucking in a cold air feed from outside it now sucks in a warm air from inside your engine bay. cold air is less dense than warm air so the engine can add more fuel to the cold air and give you more power. i've rigged the pipercross fiper up so that it draws cold air out of the front wing like the standard vw air box does. and by doing this i have noticed a big increase in power (I can now go past 6,000 RPM in 6th!)
  17. are there any other big shows similar to GTI international that we could have a clubstand at and meet each other?
  18. yep the bottoms you just lift up from the back of the seat and just pull the two rods to the middle and pull the seat off. the backs just go inside the boot and undoo the torx bolts behind the seat.
  19. kiddub i'll join you on the stand as i'll have the work mostly done on mine by then too, (smoothed lupo running on 17's!) thats two of us another two maybe? then it's only £10.25 each for both days. does the trade stand thing also include admitance tickets for myself and a passenger if so it aint that bad a price. also i'll make some banners and give a bit of an advert for the clublupo stand for anyone else not on the stand.
  20. s****hope is the same lol sc**thorpe i'm supposed to be getting loads of body work done and a new stereo install built up and new wheels all to show off at GTI international I dont know if it's worth rushing it all through now if my cars gonna be stuck in a car park where no one will see it properly. I might ask the bodyshop if they want to buy a stand for my lupo and also the VW Bora that they have done work on to be displayed!
  21. what a feck up. why are they doing this? surely the whole point of gti international is for you to get together and show off your clubs cars. so whats going to be in the main area now then, if there are no clubstands?
  22. the question about loosing your warranty..... well if you repaired it using genuine vw parts (wich you would have to do as non genuine are next to impossible to get.) and the reapir was good enough they wouldnt even notice u'd banged it in the event of some warranty work being done
  23. sent a pm but just in case i'll post here too. can i have 2 tickets both days and standpass both days! p.s. do you want any banners or signs made up as thats what i do for a livin and it'd also get more traffic to this site!
  24. yep fixed rate h&R's nice and stiff but still quite comfy the ideal set up for your dampers as researched by H&R wheras if you have adjustable damping then you run the risk of setting them up badly and making your car handle worse than before.
  25. they cannot refuse to honour a warranty if a trained mechanic has serviced the car at the correct intervals and used genuine vw parts. something to do with competition laws.
