iv got them back on now cheers, just required a bit of work with a stanley knife and also needed to bend the matal bar in the middle lol.

heres a pic of just how much they foul, it looks like im gonna have to remove everything left of that red line! i cannot be the only person to encounter this problem?

been busy with the car recently so thought id update on here gave the car a good clean and put it in the garage for some machine polishing, im new to the DA but got the hang of it pretty quick. so far iv done the roof and the bonnet. decided to upgrade the OEM headunit and speakers, i went for the pioneer AVH-3300bt and rainbow sax-265 speakers. not running the speakers off an amp yet but i upgraded the speaker wires in preparation for ampage. didnt want any cables hanging around in the cabin so im gonna keep my ipod in the dash. sorry about the glare two bloody weeks after a bumper respray and i have a boulder chip on the front highly annoyed my old aerial was perishing so decided to go for a OEM shark fin item, thanks to Mike_M for this today iv just given the interior a good clean.

are there a batch of door cards out there that are different? odd!

this cant be any different than what other member have done on here but havnt heard about people struggling to put there cards back on.

thats the original, see how the actual speaker isnt 165 but the base is. the new ones are 165mm all the way up, not just at the base.

i was as surprised as you two! and yes iv put the speakers in the same holes as the existing ones. cant understand it. the original speakers arnt 165, the bolt holes are but the speakers were the same diameter as the actual hole in the door.

iv just bought a pioneer AVH-3300bt and im really getting on with it and most pioneer units seem highly recommended. it doesnt have sat nav but it can be upgraded i believe. not cheap thou, mine was 300 but for a satnav version your looking at 500+

well my door cards foul quite alot, the metal frame that holds the front netting on is fouling!

installed 165mm speakers using a adaptor plate from autoleads but when i went to refit the door card it wont sit flush against the door because the card fouls the speaker. cant see anyone else having had this problem, just looks like i have to do some major plastic cutting on the back of the door card. any ideas?

worth the extra for KW V1's, buy cheap buy twice.

problem solved, didnt realise it was as easy as getting at them from the top. i thought id have to get into the dash!

having some rainbow components delivered tomorrow and im just wondering how to get to the tweeters to replace them?

if i was to buy a suitable cable to plug an ipod into one of the RCA's on the back would you still be able to control the ipod music through the headunit?

iv bought one of these, does the ipod only plug in from the front?

the front door cards are standard black gti leather, will get them red leathered someday

yer iv realised now, was getting confused because the guy at the body shop has had a go at using the old solenoid to act as a popper but it only pulls and is connected to the lock via a metal rod, so is holding the lock open. im currently having to manually move it back and forth lol.

got the solenoid today but i cant work out how the solenoid is supposed to return the lock lever to the lock position if its only designed to pull. feel like im missing sumit here.

iv got a sport spoiler, the points on the far ends have broken off it but you could sand them back, same spoiler than the one on fattys gti and he has the ends sanded back too.

theres a few here ebay there all rather expensive and from the us thou lol i found an audi one before but cant seem to find it now.

ah iv found the cheaper one now cheers, to be honest i dont really mind that the button is rubbish because im planning to get an audi boot button and i dont mind gettin some more cable, i just want the kit for all the hardware im gonna need. i take it this kit isnt compatible with the solenoid wires in the boot?

since i had my boot smoothed iv been looking at installing a boot popper, id prefer a genuine oem solenoid but i dont know where to source one from so would this be suitable? popper also need some tips on installation: do i power the solenoid by connecting it to the battery? will i need bigger cables to cope with bigger current? i have a three button key fob, will this solenoid work from the button on the key fob? or if someone knows of a suitable oem solenoid that could also be handy cheers
