  1. Hi all Sold my Lupo a few years ago so been off the forum since then. Just seen this GTI up for sale near me... Seems pricey even after a price reduction from £2995 to £2700. Here's the ad... 2001 Lupo Gti 1.6L, for sale. 150,000 miles Imported from the UK in 2013 hence the motorway mileage. Has done around 10K on Jersey roads and drives excellent - hasn’t let me down, engine and gearbox are solid. Its great example for its age. Body has some minor scuffs and some stone chips from age but nothing serious. Interior is in excellent clean condition. This is a great rare little car, perfect for island driving. Standard interior spec: Alarm Electric Windows (Passenger side needs looking at) Electric Sunroof Radio/CD Player w/aux 3.5mm input Please private message me for more information/viewing. Genuine offers considered in the region of £2700 Maybe the seller's a forum member and wants to fight his corner... Cheers!
  2. Hi, This is to help me with a project I'm working on at the moment. Nothing serious, but I could use a bit of advice. I've got a couple of ideas (below) and would just like to know which you think would be more useful within the car modification industry. Thanks! An auto-forum based delivery service I think there is a severe lack of reliability found with any delivery service, however, when it comes to car parts, second hand or otherwise, people want them on time, when arranged and asap! Do you think a decent, reliable delivery service that focused solely on picking up and delivering car parts for people buying and selling via motor forums is a good idea? OR A mobile modification company These may already exist, and certain mechanics will fit and repair specialist car modifications, however, these companies are often expensive due to the specialist service or difficult to come by in the first place. Do you think a reliable, reasonably priced and flexible mobile car modification service that can order you specific part(s) and fit them for only the cost of labour at your home or work place is a better idea? Any help/advice would be great. Cheers Laurence
  3. Ah, I'm not a photo-shopper, just came across him! Recommend anyone?
  4. So this probably shouldn't be in this section, but I guessed people that are interested will be looking here anyway - http://www.digimods.co.uk/virtualcars.htm You may already know him.. The cars aren't to everyones taste but are fun to look at! Enjoy!
  5. Yeah the motors trying but no success. the jet might need re-aligning..
  6. Recently had a new clutch kit, pedal box, 3 new bulbs, brakes service and battery (within the last week) - Here's a couple of new things.. Problem one: My brake lights are staying on when the pedal's up. I don't always know when this is happening, I can just sometimes see the rear reflection on signs at night. It takes a couple of taps of the brake pedal and they turn off, but i'm sure it's pretty confusing for other drivers.. It's either something to do with the new pedal box or brake light connection that has just been sorted.. Any suggestions, or a garage job? Problem two: The ancillary control that directs the heaters won't turn so the fans point towards the windscreen. Literally, the knob won't turn to face upwards. I haven't had anything to do with these controls sorted on the car recently but it was fine before it came out of the garage about 3 days ago. Any help would be great.. I'm having to wind my window down to clear the screen and it's bl**dy cold!! Thanks, Laurence
  7. for example, install a CDA
  8. Hey Any ideas what size (silicone) hose is needed in order to attach a new airbox to the air inlet pipe? Also, does the silicone itself need to be a certain width as I think the throttle body's around that area and obviously can't be touched.. Thanks Laurence
  9. Yeah Bizzle's right.. There are loads of ways to squeeze power out of a 1l but for.. ECU Remap - £300 Exhaust System - £500 K&N - £100 you're pretty much half way to getting yourself a 1.4 after spending that much, and if you're looking to stay in the low insrance group the 1.4 can be worth tuning if you have the time and money! Hope this helped Laurence

    fitting springs

I think there's a coilover guide in the 'how to' section.. Maybe have a look in there for something on springs
  11. I'm not sure of the quality of the work.. I'll have to have a look at what they do. But yeah, I was thinking about £200-250.. Probably just guessed wrong! If anyone can recommend anyone near them that may be able to do the job then please drop a suggestion.. Might work out cheaper even with spending the extra petrol money! Cheers, laurence
  12. I got a quote today for a local body shop to fill in the badge gap on the loop and re-spray the bonnet... £350 + VAT!! Seems like a hell of a lot to me.. Maybe just more than I was excpecting! How much have others been quoted/charged for this before I start looking around? Cheers, Laurence
  13. You could probably find yourself some used 13" Wolfrace Super slots for about £300 however would have to get your hands on some adapters too.. Even though they're not deep dish maybe some decent GTI Bathursts with either good tyres or a re-spray.. (if you dont drive gti already) Failing that, if you could rustle up and extra 100-150 then you could get some second hand Lenso BSX's or Brock B6's.. Hope that gave you something to look at! Laurence

    What discs?

Just ordered my new Ferodo DS2500 pads to be fitted next week.. I'm going to wear them in for about 50 miles before getting my new discs fitted which I want to order this week.. Just can't decide what to get.. I was thinking maybe: - Black Diamond Combi - Brembo MAX - EBC Vented Any other reccomendations or ideas? Also has anyone upgraded their brake fluid.. What do you use? Thanks, Laurence
  15. Can't remember off hand, however you may be right.. havn't had the car long so i'll check when they were last changed. I have a new set to fit at the end of this month so guess i'll find out then! Thanks!
  16. Generally 4th/5th between between 3-5000rpm.. It doesn't go away when I press the clutch at high speed though. It seems more speed determined as opposed to rev.. Thanks
  17. It's been doing it for ages now.. Like a fairly loud howling noise coming from the front half of my car when I hit about 50/60mph. It doesn't get any louder or higher pitched with speed but the pitch does drop when I reach below 60 again. I've got my girlfriend to check her side of the car and we know it's neither the windows or the air vents.. I'm also pretty sure it's not the engine. Has anyone had the same problem or know what might be wrong? Any help's good Thanks!
  18. Push the tomtom/phone charger all the way in then pull it out a couple of mm.. This tightens the outer connection slightly enabling the charger. I don't know anyone else that's done this but I have the same problem with mine and seems to work.
  19. they're quite wide.. just wanted confirmation. Thanks mate
  20. Obviously I'm not talking about the rear seats but i've managed to find a cheap Golf VR6 with mint full leather trim.. Just wondering if they'll fit in the loop with modified sub frames? Cheers!
