  1. Having sold my wifes Lupo GTI back last year I'd completely forgotten about these hanging in the garage ! They're in good condition and have the keys present. They're the genuine VW roof bars and I think I've used them twice with a roof box although they did come with the car and had been used by the previous owner. Looking for £70 and will post for £15 (in line with what Silver has done in the past, although I haven't officially priced myself). Any questions let me know. Cheers, Chris.
  2. Sorry ! I meant to the OP !!
  3. That's exactly what I first thought. Why would a gearbox fault transmit to pedal movement ? Chris.
  4. I get pinking when its either hot weather or when the tank is low. And thats on v-power !
  5. I get this kangarooing too, quite badly. I have always run it on Texaco 97 and v-power. There doesn't seem to be a difference between the two. Didn't someone mention on here that there was a software update for the jerking ? Maybe I should try cleaning the throttle body too. It mostly happens on light throttle movements , like when your creeping forward in a queue. I have had the throttle body re-adapted but this didn't make a difference. Does the throttle body have to come off to clean it ? I'm sure there's a guide on here somewhere.
  6. You'd have to be pretty consistent with your hands though ! Wouldn't have thought it'd stay very concentric that way. When I've done them I have clamped them to the bed of our Bridgeport milling machines and used a boring head to take the excess out. Hour for the four. Westie , where abouts are you ?
  7. I see your point yeah. The Kahns look big on there. Not sure I'd want that look. Looking at mark ikedas car, the 17s look too big on the car when it was silver but perfect when they were grey. Maybe that's because they were narrower though ? I'm starting to think maybe 16s the safest option.
  8. Yeah. Those 16s look better on there. Is it colour related though ? Would they have the same visual impact on a silver car like mine ? Take on board what you say about the effects of the weight of the 17s. What tyres did you run on them ?
  9. Quite an opinionated reply there . Could it not just be personal taste ? Why would you "feel the need" to mention you have 17s or 18s ? I think that 19s are quite common place in tuning / styling circles. Unless you are just talking of Lupos of course.
  10. thought about this and I think that it would be no bad thing as I think the 6-speed box is very close anyway. You all know how easy it is to skip gears on day to day driving . Jesus, I sound like a right old geezer ! I found this a while back which will show you the difference to rolling circ. etc. http://www.club80-90syncro.co.uk/Syncro_we...0calculator.htm
  11. sorry, got my sizes wrong there. I meant 40 or 45 series. Not really a fan of the stretched look so want to keep the width but , hell those look big on mark ikedas car !!
  12. Yours are quite a big expanse of alloy though aren't they so will this not give the illusion of being bigger ? I was thinking of 17" BBS RX with say a 195 50 17 or 45 17 . The RX has that lip around the edge meaning that the spokes don't travel to the outer edge making them look smaller than they really are . What do you think ?
  13. Hi all, tried a search but found nothing. As the topic asks really - why does nobody do it ? Is the ride really that bad ? Clearance ? Or just aesthetics ? Anyone got pics ? Cheers, Chris.
