I was utterly shocked to see one there! I was in Baslow visiting my girlfriend, it was boxing day when i saw it just over bubnell bridge and i was on the other side in my red GTI!

I was searching ebay as usually and stumbled across a smashed up Lupo 1.0 that is currently sitting on ebay for £100. back and sides are fine but front is wrecked to say the least. If this car was repaired what sort of selling figure do you guys reckon I could fetch for it. It might even be a good excuse to whack a bigger engine in it and tune the tits off it! Take a lok at it, go to ebay and type in Volkswagen Lupo, its got 6 days left at the moment. its black too, nice!

I've seen the new Golf GTI on both fifth gear and last night on top gear and I've got to say I'm impressed. It's really grown on me, at first I hated the "gotee" beard look but it actually looks quite cool, and all the little touches inside and out look first class. The tartan seats like the original. I'm suprised Clarkson rates it so highly seeing as he seems to be a VW basher but I haven't seen him that impressed with a car since the RX8. I'm saving up as of now, £20k is a lot of money tho, any donations welcome!

The Clio would be a mental option, they really don't hold there value and at the end of the day its still only a Renault Clio! Apparently you can get a Chrysler Crossfire for £22k, they look quite sexy but arent they just basically an old SLK/? Evo 8 ive just found out its piss easy to tune to a 330 Used to have a Mini and my mum has one! TVR isnt practical cos they are forever breaking down I'm not a big Scooby fan either I like the sound of an Elise, 911 or vx220 tho

i hate to say it but I think it may be time for me to move on from my beloved Lupo GTI (although I'm in no rush to). I've been offered a half and half company car scheme thingy which works out to about £20k. What would you buy for the money? Bare in mind that I'm 23 with 5 years no claims, Lupo insurance was £425 for year. I'm 10 miles from work so wouldnt get to really use it alot during the week and want `decent-ish` fuel consumption. So far my list comprises of; New Golf GTI Mitsubishi Evo 8 260 New Gold TDI Mazda RX8 Civic Type R (although my g/f's dad has one) second hand Porsche Boxster or Audi TT What do you reckon?

Very Yaris like, I much prefer the original Lupo too, but then again I prefer the Golf mk1 and the original Mini and Beetle. Anyone else?

its so confusing, I've seen 8.3, 8.2, 7.9 and 7.7. If anyone asks I say 7.5!! My dads was the sane, he had a Golf V5 and never knew the proper `0-60`, 8.2, 7.9 or 7.4?

Its an 04 plate with about 4,500 miles so yeah its under warranty, tyres look fine but havent checked them, and its a newer tyre on the front drivers side after a puncture so they are definetly not worn. My uncle had a mk1 Golf GTi many years ago and he said a similar thing used to happen to him, he went through 3 sets of tyres in a year and could hardly set off without gettin wheelspin!

Its happening more regularly, cornering at high speed is no probs what so ever, its when im turing `sharp-ish` bends at lower speeds, accelerate and it twitches like crazy and goes, only happens at night for some reason. Before tho I was overtaking up a hill in fourth and when i go level with the other car it pulled like crazy to the left, I wrestled with it a bit with one hand (other on the gear stick) and managed to keep it straight. only doing `3500-4500` rpm.

Dunno if its the tyres or what but friday night and tonight I have got wheel spin when pulling onto the same roundabout in second, change up to third and it happens again then turn the corner after exiting the roundabout and my wheels turn one way whilst my steering wheel is turned the other! `Co-incidence`? Too much power, or those dunlop wheels? I've got wheel spin changing up to third before when racing a Merc `E-class`

Most cars have rattles, my girlfriends uncle had a Jaguar S Type R which rattled and has since bought an Aston Martin Vanquish and guess what, it rattles, maybe a Rolls is the way forward

Red Lup GTi, I'm in love with your alloys! What size are the alloys and the tyres, and how much did they set you back?

I'm eagerly anitcipating the brand new Polo GTI, anyone know when it's planned? I know the Polo GT is out now but it's diesel and that's no good for me! I've asked at my local dealership repetativly but they swear they no nothing! Also, the tyres on my Lupo Gti are 205/45/15, whats the next size up for 16 inch rims?
