    the cleaner the better imho
  4. i had em on the bug and they werent great ,mine did the same but after a couple of years admittedly but you would nt accept that from standard shox so why should aftermarket ones do it??? venom never replied to me and theres no service from fk to get em sorted or rebuilt next time im gonna go with h&r or kw or if i can stretch to it gaz ones dan
  5. it would look cool ,god knows how id keep it frozen long enough to get a mould off it though ??? anyone know owt about moulding????? dan
  6. the knob has a serrated collar at the bottom that traps the gaitor between it and the knob, you need to prize the collar off the bottom of the knob which will release the gaitor hey presto jobs a good un dan
  7. yeah thats just how i fitted mine ,its the most common and easiest way,and stops it looking gash at the top
  8. i just got mini one as i knew it would have the smallest hole, then i could always drill it out, didnt wanna get a bigger one and then have to make it smaller to fit, always better tight than sloopy i say!!!! dan
  9. just changed mine and the loop ones look exactly the same as the new beetle ones which are the same as mk4 goof so should fit ok,on the bug i had to file a bit of the plastic away as the door pin caught at first and stopped the central locking working but once i did that it was fine and has been ever since dan

    Hello!

hey vick welcome to the darkside!! you ll love it here ive no doubt , and ill keep my eyes peeled for any loops round my way for ya dan
  11. yeah standard wheels with michelin tyres ,guess im used to the big ole toyo 18s on the beetle, maybe when its lowered itll feel better but it didnt fill me with confidence in the wet!!! will deffo change tyre brand when i put when i put new wheels on it!!!looking forward to seeing what ya do though dan
  12. ha ha get ya tongue round a twister, that would make a good gear knob!! , could take a mould off one and cast it in resin, would look mental
  13. just fitted mine yesterday,,made a new longer gear gaitor then i bonded mine on after taking the centre out to 12mm ,i bought a mini fitment one and slowly enlarged the hole till it was a tight fit, then used some special bonding stuff we use at work,so hope i dont have to ever take it off!! oops gear shift feels ace now though as the balls so heavy it gives a really nice weighted feel when shifting dan
  14. yeah m8 i have but cant go too wide as its wifes daily and has no power steering, its bad enough trying to get it into our drive on the 165 s i would consider some at the right money but then need tyres n adaptors etc etc it all starts getting expensive,i find it cheaper these days to buy new wheels and tyres than to refurb and fit and old set!!!!
  15. would look sick on skinnies but ya gottta ,drive, steer and stop with em !! and itll handle like a bag o s h i t ,itll look cool as f*ck but handle like s h i t, took mine out for first time in pissing rain last night for no rice and on the 165 s it was proper scary ,giving it death up the slip road onto 303 and nearly swapped ends ,in some standing water on a corner id happily barrel round in the bug dan
  16. 2 silly new mods for ya bought a pool ball knob off e gay and made a new gaitor so it all fits nicely and made some new door lock buttons from these dice also painted my front badge and ordered a black rear, ordered aero wipers and later polo one for rear and have bought lowored shocks and springs!!its all go still cant find any wheels i really like though!!!
  17. thanks,i looked all over too and eventually found this on the bay of e,off all places,it had all mots, service history, and all old receipts plus nearly 12 months tax and test ,so was a bit of a steal, just had it gone over with a fine toothcomb by my m8 whos a vw tech and he says its spot on,just needs a clutch cable as theres a kink in it , a gear selector shaft seal and front discs which have rusted bady due to it being stood forr a while before i bought it!! hi m8 good to meet you too,how d ya enjoy no rice then??? its a good meet and rammed when its not persisting down
  18. poo hot ,you got sort me a couple of stickers out for the loop!! cheers dan poo hot god i hate forums that dont let you f u c k i n g swear
  19. man thats f**kin rad, i spaced my bug rears and got some higher offset fronts to give my bug the narrowed beam look, but it looks awesome on ya loop but ya cant put hubcaps back on those rims now itll be sacrilege top work fella dan ps whats hoopty tech garages?is it for real or a piss take ,seen the sticker on that awesome cambered brown loop
  20. another couple o bits done, its slowly getting redder in there!! rear panel insert ,in an old fat biscuit style and fitted back in the car,i love the contrast of the red and green ,really glad i went red now and just a stooopid one this time, can you spot it??? trimmed the towing eye cover(did this once before for a mate on the newbee forum,so thought id nick his idea)
  21. google em thats easiest, they start about £50 i think
  22. you need 4x100 -5x130 adaptors to make them fit the loop hubs, youll need to check the offset of the porsche wheels(as they are all different from model to model and front ones often have different offsets to the rears) and get the correct width adaptors to give you the offset you want,so that they clear struts ,brakes etc hope that helps a bit dan
  23. pretty sure cobra do tiltable subframes so theyll bolt straight in? if not give em a ell they re a really helpful bunch ,weve recently started dealing with them and they re brilliant, damn sight more helpful than recaro with the techinical stuff dan
