  1. im picking up a 16v arosa (mk2) on saturday but unfortunately it is fitted with one of those ugly high level rear spoilers that fit round the brake lght. instead of messing about with the spoiler and trying to remove it without damaging paint etc, i want to fit a lupo tailgate as it has a different shape window (better looking) and no rear spoiler. anyone know if they are the same fitment? im assuming they are, but you cant assume anything in this game!

  3. there is one for sale on here at the mo, its also on pistonheads smoothed, jamex coils, ats classics, superlow miles (14000) think the guy is asking 4000
  4. ive heard good things about the TA-Technix kits supplied by phil-j £215 delivered probably dont compare to the KW kits, but for the money...
  5. just found this... red 2001 arosa tdi only 49,000 miles (amazingly low for the age, and the fact its a tdi) fsh a few sctratches and minor blisters but nothing major buy it now price - 3099 im not the seller, just thought someone on here might be looking, and this seems like a pretty good example for the money, especially with that mileage! Mike.
  6. loving the wood effect p-slots! if you really want to do this, and do it well, you need to get wood grain effect vacuum sheets from www.starpaint.eu we saw a guy doing a demonstration with this stuff at worthersee, its amazing... dip the sheet in water, put it onto anything you like (any shape whatsoever) and it vacuum forms into a perfect smooth covering. its tough too - you can use it on wheels, engine bits, even body panels. 25euros a sheet
  7. yeah, the 100bhp model. its all sorted now - told HIC where to go, and suddenly they came up with a quote of less than half the original amount. magic!
  8. i guess you could get custom made shorter springs if you need to drop it further than its going now?
  9. sounds good to me, what tyres are you running on your 16s, and what width are the wheels? what arch mods have you done?
  10. cheers mattTDI.... cool. did you fit them yourself? any problems? have you got any side-on pics of your car? and is 90/70 the maximum drop or can you go lower?
  11. phil jackson is doing these for a good price, tempted to get some when i eventually get a 16v arosa.. is anyone on here running them? how low do they go? easy to fit? good and bad points? please.
  12. i knew they were talking poop, just got a quote from adrian flux and it was under 500.
  13. this sounds ridiculous to me, but ive just got a quote from HIC for about £1000 im 29 years old, with 1 years ncb, no convictions, on a standard car (apart from wheels and suspension) WTF! a grand! i currently pay less than £300 on my mk1 polo, i thought the arosa might be a little bit more, but surely thats taking the piss? i thought they were meant to be group 5 insurance? HIC said 'we operate different groups, our system says its a group 10' what the hell!!!!
  14. amazing, love the wheels! what coils are they? were they easy to fit?
  15. its been sold its been on autotrader for ages, why dont they remove cars that have been sold?! grr.

  17. hello... im looking to get an arosa in the near future, ive seen a nice 2001 Yreg mk2 1.4 16v sport, in red, with 78,000 miles on the clock. its reasonably priced and seems to have been well maintained. is this mileage ok? how long do these engines last? im really tempted, but i dont want to shell out if it hasnt got much left in it. cheers...
  18. im also considering 16" rims if i get a lupo, i want then tucked if possible (NOT sticking out from the arches) any idea what offset i need to run for 7x16 wheels to keep them inside the arches?
  19. yes bruv thats looking sick yeah! deffo loving ya neons, mad glow yeah! meet you at maccy d's yeah, rev the nuts off our engines ya get me! sick!
  20. nice one, thanks for all the info matey! have a nice xmas!
  21. considering getting one of these in the new year (probably an arosa) just a few questions... they always seem to have higher mileage than petrol cars of the same year/price, do these engines last well? any common problems that i should know about? do they respond well to tuning? do the tdi engines sit any lower in the bay than a petrol engine (im thinking about ground clearance when lowered) ? and finally... does anyone make a dump valve to fit these engines? (not that im a tracksuit wearing barry or anything ) thanks!
