  1. no CCTV on the estate as far as I know, lived there for two years and never noticed any. why would the council tow it away? it's parked legally, taxed etc, no reason for them to remove it. and surely if it was a council job they would have to contact me before/after to explain why they had taken it and where it was being kept? also... I doubt the council would come and drag a car away on a low loader (my car sits on the floor and has a flat battery, so they wouldnt be able to raise the air ride enough to take it any other way) under cover of darkness!
  2. mods, please move this if I've posted in the wrong place... just got home from work to find my car missing, it's a black Arosa Sport 16v. plenty of recent photos in the for sale thread... http://www.edition38...howtopic=452405 VU52 WEO 7 and 8x16 Porsche Wintercults (8s are silver, 7s are black) on 165/40 Nankangs and 195/40 Falkens Havair Stage 1 air ride kit Havair stickers on the front and rear screens BMC carbon induction kit 63,000 miles stolen from Langdon Hills near Basildon, either late last night (was definitely parked outside my house at around 10pm last night) or during the day today (Im fairly certain it was there when I left for work at 7am this morning but I cant be 100% sure) looks like it might have been dragged/towed away as there are scratch marks on the tarmac in front of where it was parked. battery was flat as I am not using the car currently. any info, please PM me. thanks,
  3. struggling with links for some reason, please get in touch if youre interested and i'll email pics. cheers Mike

  5. hmm no idea whats happened there, copied directly from my E38 thread where they work fine. anyone wanting pics please ask and I'll email them to you. cheers, Mike
  6. getting a set of staggered wintercults this weekend so my current set will be for sale. bought these a couple of years ago, they were on the brown mk1 golf on air with the smooth leather dash (golf+ cover car) originally mirror polished, now they are finished in crackle/textured mat black (did it myself, not a pro job but still a really good durable finish) very minor curbing on two wheels but its only scratched the surface of the paint, no actual damage to the metal and I will repaint them before sale. fitted with 165/40r16 Nankang NS2 all round, rears are virtually brand new, fronts have worn (one is bald and needs replacing, passed the MOT a couple of weeks ago but hasnt got much life left in it) looking for £600 ovno, wont be giving these away for stupid money! located in basildon, essex. pics to follow shortly. http://www.flickr.co...157623681984255 http://www.flickr.co...57623681984255/ http://www.flickr.co...157623681984255 cheers Mike
  7. amen sister! the back could go down about another inch just by cutting the bumpstops in half, but I am now on the lookout for 60mm adapters or 20mm stub axle spacers for the rear, to make the wheels fill the arches better. was after 8" rears for a while but I would rather keep 7" all round with additional spacing.
  8. haha cool, that's my pic ^ from my flickr stream. love it, first time i've seen this legendary car in the flesh. crazy camber! Im the guy with the black arosa on air by the way
  9. I enjoyed it on the whole. yeah I guess it got a bit boring after a couple of hours walking round the main halls, but I feel the same at any show - nothing much changes throughout the day does it? everything is set up and in place before the crowds arrive, so unless you're a proper geek and examine cars with a microscope, then you've taken everything in after a few hours surely? that red lupo on tramonts, crazy low, quilted leather roof... OMG one of my cars of the show, awesome!! is he on here??
  10. yep, Italian spec Pirelli flat alloy centre caps, took a bit of engineering to make them fit but they looked awesome, fully mirror polished to match the wheels.
  11. I remember Heartagram mentioned fitting 17s on his Lupo ages ago, think he had his eye on some 17" passat winters or something like that, think they were 6" wide which would have made it easier. really wanted the Monzas but at 8.5" wide, think they would have been too much of a squeeze.
  12. £800 is about right, I paid 700 for mine a few years ago. mine were on that Golf+ cover car mk1 golf, the brown one on air which now rides on 14" steffans. mine came with newish 165/40 nankangs. youve spent 250 on Ps? what have you done to them? actually i spent quite a bit on mine... 110 for the wheels, 200 iirc on the alloy centre caps, 240ish on the tyres.
  13. have you seen cars that fully sit on the floor, sills down for the entire length of the car? like the Rayvern jetta and that tubbed mk1 from Worthersee? imo they look awful, not well stanced, just looks like there is something wrong with it! air isnt just about getting as low as poss.
  14. @ Jennings... they are Porsche 928 winter wheels, 7x16, et65. it was my Pslots that were polished by pureklas in Cov, not these. iirc correctly it was 45 per wheel. @ croakey.... I hear you dude, but I like these wheels a lot, and wont be going any smaller. in fact, I tried to get a set of 8.5x17 autostrada Monzas earlier this year.
  15. it cant really go any lower on the back without seriously major work. its on 16s with 165/40s and the wheels f&r both wedge into the arches on full drop. its already had deep tubular cups welded into the rear beam where the shocks mount, which takes it a couple of inches lower, and it's on extra short Gaz rear dampers. the guys at Havair put a lot of extra work into getting the rear down this much. dont judge it from this photo, its a lot lower than it looks here. the exhaust/suspension arms hit the floor on full drop. as stated above, tubbing the arches and smaller wheels would be the only real solution. when i finally track down some 8" rears and get some camber sorted, the arches will squeeze tightly into the tyre/wheel lip anyway, which is what i hoped for, and the front is fully tucked with the front bumper only about 8mm off the tarmac. Im happy with it as it is, and it will look pretty fresh when everything is done. thanks for showing me what to do with the pics, i struggle when it comes to computers
  16. drove next to it for a while on the A127 near Rayleigh this morning at 8am. blue lupo sport, lenso's (sorry if they are actually bbs!) im not drunk im avoiding potholes sticker in back window, pressed plates, lady driving. on here?
  17. also... what are the front wheels like behind the centre caps? why do you run centre caps on the front but have the concave dish showing on the rears? just interested! cheers
  18. looking awesome a few questions... what are those mirrors and where from? would they fit a mk2 arosa? how much camber do you run on the rear? and do you know if the shims are available for mk2 arosas? one of my fave arosas, keep up the good work bro.
  19. lets go back to the start... this is what I drove before I got the Arosa. 1981 mk1 polo, 895cc engine (37bhp ) purchased from Gregg who used to work at PVW. great little car, had some custom Gaz coilovers made for it which brought it down to earth, never enough for my liking though. quality kit but VERY firm ride, proper bone shaker. rolled on mirror polished P-Slots wrapped in 175/50 pirelli P5000 tyres. displayed at E38 in 2008. check the rollcage bought it off HotTuning website, it was for a mk1 golf.... so I did a few calculations (which basically means I thought a mk1 polo would be roughly the same size/shape inside as a mk1 golf) and ordered it. it arrived, I did a quick trial fit and quickly realised that some major cutting and shutting would be required. I ended up hacking it into pieces and it still was nowhere near fitting the polo. so it spent its time in the car held together with parcel tape (safety first kids ) until I eventually ripped it out, took it to the local scrappy... and got £4 for it. wheels polished by PureKlas in Coventry, along with a set of super rare Italian spec Pirelli alloy centre caps. would have looked awesome properly spaced/cambered but I never got round to it on this car. what the hell?! why arent my pics working anymore? Im copying/pasting the link from flickr but this ^ is all Im getting now can anyone advise me??
  20. pic from Players, with Mitch checking out the rear bags. will try to get the ball ralling with more regular pics and updates erm... why didnt that pic link work?
