  1. so just to confirm that mitchell for a full afh swap i only need to above mounting wise ? will the box mount up ? and use the afh flywheel and clutch ?
  2. certainly an avenue i will look into, dont know how mounts would work AFH wise or box stregth (i know this isnt a worry with your box ) been following chris's updates in CGTI with intrest

Cheers for all the info for spint/hillclimb reasons im now thinging of if its possible to run the polo avy head with a smaller capacity bottom end (say the ahw or sport block) if using the standard avy ecu and loom, and overcomming the problem of a crank/impluse sender beeing diffrent what other issues can you see, bar the water/oil ways not matching
  4. ah intresting, though with the addition of 6th the box may be physically bigger hence the subframe beeing a diffrent shape mitchell, you may be able to answer this, another random though regarding the vvt from the polo/lupo engine, is the varible valve timming purely hydrolic controlled, or is the hydrolic tensioner ecu controlled if that makes sense as the other idea running round in my head which proberly wont work was to use the avy head, injectors and remapping the ahw ecu if it has the capabilty to run the standard sensors as per the AHW with the advatages of the bigger ported avy head/cams/vvt, im imagining that wont work though
  5. cheers lads, out of intrest how does the lupo engine differ in mounting/subframe wise ? or is it down to the "longer" engine and the widetrack front end
  6. and also im thinking all lupos were fly by wire with a hydrolic clutch, hmm maybe easier finding a polo lump
  7. also is the 6 speed box mounted any diffrently to the current box with the 2 Piece mount which the battery tray then sits on

Eevning not the normal i want to make my lupo faster question but need some guidence have a ahw engined lupo which im turning into a track car, was orginally going to carry out and started collecting parts for a hybrid build using a 1.6 avy bottom end and a AFH head on stand alone management looking at my options it may be so much easier for a reliable 125bhp ish go go for a complete avy swap with the loom/ecu etc etc what issues am i going to face mount wise ? if any considering to my knowledge the ahw block is similar if not identical to the sport block (bar beeing alloy) which is turn is the same as the avy block (to my knowledge) and any wiring/cluster issues ?

    Eibach Pro Springs

    from fitting them to 2 of my lupo's they actully seem to sit quite high, and there not a big drop in the first place (cant remember what pro's are (30/30 or 50/30 ?) but your not going to have the issue they have talked about take the car to a trusted garage or a VAG specalist of possibly someone of this forum who knows what there doing
  11. So to clear up, as a few posts seem to contradict (sp) each other are the gti heads vvt ? and any advantage in running one over a AFH
  12. Just wondering what sort of issues this is likely to encounter ? if any, not going to have the sump on the floor, but low enough to make it look resonable and fun to drive any pics/advice etc

    Rolling rear arches

    Trying to decide to run 14" or 15" on my track car, with 15" i belive im going to run into issues with the rear arches cathing the higher profile slicks such as R888 anyone had it done by a company, and any problems with the weird shaped arches lupos have ?

  19. Basically sent a load of pm's about bits im after with no replies looking at my outbox, there isnt any msg in there at all ? and none under saved messages or in the tracker area either it used to work, whats gone wrong ?

Looking to swap inlets on the 75bhp lupo i have, looking at the ahw engine there is a egr take of on the inlet maniold under the tb, now if i do away with this and go for a sport/gti inlet the egr take of is on the bottom of the inlet anyone done anything similar, and got round the problem ? cheers James
  21. currently upgrading a non sport, have loacated some cheap gti calipers and carriers to go on the sport hubs ibe picked up, but just wanted to check they will actully fit ? cheers James
  22. i had thought about coilovers, but anything decent even on the 2nd hand market seems to be far to expensive for what is a cheap build
  23. Looking at puting together a cheap track car with a lupo ive got sitting doing nothing at the moment gti suspension is cheap, and wondering if used with say koni 40mm springs how it will sit, and if it even fits ? cheers jr
