Aa bloke was stumped too, called for a flatbed as he was only in a astra van thing, an as I'm waitin for it sat in my front room where I dropped my keys earlier on and say the immobiliser chip in the middle of the floor!! Good job I've got white carpet haha. Starts fine now chips back in the key, jus cancelled the flatbed. Shouldn't it be stuck in the key cos atm its just bouncin around inside it. Bit of glue me thinks an spare key ordered! Cheers for all responses anyhow!

Battery seems ok, it looks brand new in fact i havnt got anything to check voltage unfortunately. Havnt got a spare key didn't come with one! Aa blokes on his way as I'm stumped!

Had a lupo GTI a month now, been absolutely fine then this morning went to start it, starts up and straight away dies, then wont start and just rolls over on the starter motor? Then if you leave it a few minutes it will start and die again, then do the same rolling over on starter motor afterwards! Grrrr hope I havnt bought a pup, does this sound like anything possibly immobiliser? My key fell to bits yesterday! Cheers Nick

Try adrian flux, I'm 22 4NCB an paid £570 on a Lupo GTI a couple of weeks ago. Put your parents on as named drivers for some reason its halved mine an make sure you mention your on a forum, it gets you a discount, at the time I mentioned the astra sport forum as I have a vxr as well as my gti! So obv you don't even have to have the right car for the forum jus be a member...? Doesn't make sense. Sky insurance above didn't even bother picking up to me or calling me back...

I need a new sunroof motor for my gti, opened mine up and the pink cog has just ground away at the bottom. Looking on ebay at part number 6X0 959 591 and theyre £75 but i found one from a 2000 golf for £20 that looks exactly the same in the picture with part number 6N0 959 591. Only the 2nd digit is different, 6X0 on mine and 6N0 on the one from the golf. Anyone know what that digit means and if it is in fact the same part like i suspect? Cheers in advance.

How much is it costing you out of interest? I thought about doing my astra but decided not to in the end and bought another car to save money which ended up going completely the opposite way and ive ended up with a astra vxr and a lupo gti neither of which are known for fuel economy haha.

Bought myself a GTI knowing it had a sunroof problem, but dont actually know if it is the motor or what so if anyone else has any ideas any help would be mucho appreciato! It makes a grinding noise when you turn to open, sounds like small plastic gears grinding against each other. Then opens a bit, stops, grinds, acts strange, you can push it while its grinding and it will 'grab' and close properly... Any ideas? Oh and my passenger window wont go up sometimes, it stops half way then just wont do anything for a few mins then itl go back down. Pushing it up helps, it slows down as if the window is the wrong shape to the frame? Cheers in advance!

Mainly because i jus plain HATE the way policemen treat me so id love to fight them because ive had 4 cars; A Corsa C 1.8 SRI all bodykitted up which they used 2 pul me an try chekin my xhaust note, askin me 2 do my windows up so they cud c if the fronts were illegally tinted, they even checkd a pair of subs i had in my boot for Db ratings once, there just out to waste my and my mates times. I had my dads Saab 9-3 1.8 T Aero 4 a bit an i got pulled in that every week being accused of nicking it because i was 18 at the time. I bought a Clio 182 cup which was the same situation as my dads Saab with the police. I had a company Deisel ST modeo once i got bummed in by the fuzz askin me 2 produce all my documents... Now this lupo ive had 4 9 months, never been pulled or anything an then i get this. Its not slight speeding that kills people, theres gna b the odd case, its ppl who cant drive or xcessivly speed which isnt me. U travel down any road behind someone and 7 out of 10 ppl will be speeding. I agree the speed limits could be raised also. Ive pissed myself off writing this, someone lock the thread please so i dont get anymore ppl tryna av a dig lol!
