  1. Well Kimmie, I'm almost certain that the Valve guides are worm. If you good with engines, all you do is remove the head and send it to engineering. They replace the guides and any valves that got worn as well. Otherwise a replacement is your best option. If it smokes alot dont bother about stem seal, that means the problem is well past that stage. But you should not desregard the rings either. But this occurs cause drivers over rev this engine when cold. Hope this helps Tony
  2. Mate the damage looks worse than what it is, didn't even damage the frames or insides has i said cosmatic, no damage what so ever mechanically, collecting parts on tuesday so finished by tuesday afternoon or wednesday morning. To strip the damage parts took me 1 hour to replace everything maybe 2 hours there is no panel betting or welding to do it all screws in. But i'm in Edinburgh where are you if you close call me and come see it before assembly you can even come watch me do it. Tony

  10. I'm all good, know what there was a baby in the car in front of me. The damage is very cosmetic but the problem is the number of thinks it broke. Side Fender, bumper, grill, headlight, corner of the bonnet. Well i'm just hoping the guy is insured.
  11. My Luck, Can you believe it so much work, and 800 miles later i happen to be involved in a chase that had nothing to do with me. Got footage but police are in it, can i show it? It was like a movie seen. This guy manage to take out, damage and scratch about 10 cars in one go. Trying to go between a massive row of car on the off ramp standing still waitng for traffic light to go green. And to finish it off at full speed. Police chase link ENJOY
  12. Well if it smokes all the time its a very good possibility that is the valve guides, if not then it could be the ECU. The most comon fault is valve guides. The cheapest way i found out is to take the head to engineering. Or if you can find an engine with low mileage and less then £250.
  13. Hi Guys, I'm trying to locate one of this. Anyone got one lying around. Here a photo for you boys and girls to admire the originalety of a lupo.
  14. Well i had the problem, look me up on my thread. Luckly Tigs had a engine for me. If its the valve guides the cheapest way to go about it is to take it to engineering, its something like £2 per guide and if you do the all head at engineering i was quoted £180 plus vat. There is a cat original on ebay for £60 i think it new. Head gasket around £55 including the new bolts. I have just resently gone through exaclty the same problem but its all sorted out and moted. Something you should consider as well is the valve seals. Luckly i did all the work myself so i got away litely.
  15. Oh no. I thought you said you borrowed it or sold it! Well i will keep that in mind. Paid quite a bit for a second hand one.
  16. Yep. Presistance has got its rewards but at a cost. Thanks for all the advice. And remember its not always a popped Cat. Have u managed to pin point your problem Piston rings or valve guides???
  17. Good news at last all sorted out and moted. After much presistance the problem as been found and fixed. A second hand ECU and a remap. And once again tigz thanks for the Engine.
