  1. Brilliant so aside from front Roll bar / decent suspension setups should ensure GTI+ like handling... Are there any upgrade options for the GTI roll bar? No point in going for GTI if you can go one step ahead! Does anyone use any uprated wishbones / nylon bushes at all anywhere? Dave
  2. We had humidifiers in for over 4 days constant to dry out the walls and ceilings and then they used it to rip the floor up and re-lay everything. They bypassed the flooded fuse box and drained the electric for over a week with high power machines / humidifiers and we had a stonking bill in the other day - we have just had to send letters to get some progress made with this re-imbursement before our electric is cut off for not paying the bill! We only have blinds in the flat but that could be a sore idea....
  3. Some people just don't seem to understand that living away from thier parents isn't as cushy as they may think... The first lesson I learned was the toilet roll doesn't appear magically and that dinner isn't just a plate of hot food - some ****** had invented this thing called a cooker that you must use to cook it first... I have had so many problems with the bank it is unreal - In the end I got something called a "flexi-loan" via HSBC. It is like a loan so you have to pay a fixed amount each month yet you can "borrow" up to the loans limit at any point in time - so if you need the money - transfer it over which takes 5 minutes and voila - there is cash in my C/A. It has saved me a few times by allowing me to use this facility for things like when your flat gets flooded like mine did a while ago - insurance companies - now that is a different ball game all together - i'm still trying to claim back my food that was ****ed and electricity they used to repair my flat.
  4. Having never seen the underneath of a lupo / arosa I was wondering what the front suspension setup was like? Are there any differences between the GTI and standard setups? I.E - thicker roll bars or better rear beams...??? I am looking to get a lupo and sort the chassis out so it is setup brilliantly for handling as I had a mate who caged a 1.0 arosa and said it was a hell of a lot of fun! My polo uses track control arms and a ARB, but I am hoping the Lupo/ Arosa's use a wishbone setup - is this correct? Dave
  5. She does sit high at the rear as I found if it was lower the handling was provoking more understeer and thus raised it a little on the coilies to give it back some praticality. When the splits are refurbed I may drop it a bit to get the "look" but only for shows... I had a right hoot out in it last night - drove some 200+ miles to drop a mate home down south and love the back roads nearer my old house!
  6. LOL - dibs list on those is you, PhilJ for quick sales! I maybe selling them soon dude as I fancy a change - time to let someone else pimp it up me thinks....
  7. She is my daily indeed and is still going strong after 140K...although I have never had it on the rollers when I bought it the guy gave me a print out showing 116bhp - since then i have done toothed belts, induction, full system incl 4 branch, chipped and fitted the front mount intercooler. I'll be lucky to see 140bhp to be honest without greens / SNS remap @ PSD but for now i'd say roughly 130bhp as it stands. It is more than plenty and doesn't get driven hard until fully warm, gets regular oil changes etc to try and keep it running healthy. I had some help on the conversion but most of the work is done by me - is a bad hobby to have though when you need to use it for work!
  8. Thats right Mofo and don't forget it

  10. LOL at the Fiesta giving it beans... I showed up a new CTR yesterday 3 up in the G - he put his foot down off the lights - so I simply level pegged him through til 3rd gear when the G pulled in front - needless to say he didn't try it again!
  11. Recently i have been wondering about the suspension of the lupo chassis... Does it use a subframe or wishbone setup? I currently have a Mk3 polo and it uses track control arms and an anti roll bar - and is pretty dire to say the least... Also i notice the 1.0 engines fitted to the lupo etc - would this mean the 1.3 engines from mk4 polos are able to be fitted? Sorry for the noobie questions and being lazy and not looking for myself but forums are normally packed with good stuff and hopefully you will get me in the right direction... Thanks Dave
