If you cut the metal bit out you havent got the option to put seats back in at a later date. Also the wooden 'slab' isnt that heavy, put it this way the original rear seats weigh quite abit more than it

Got abit bored the other day and decided to paint the rear vw badge like the front, blue background and pink front Looks quite good, or atleast i thought so lol Ill get a pic up 2moz Today ive made a false floor for the boot took loads of measuring but fits perfect plus i can still lift it up to get to the spare wheel Im quite happy with it but think it needs sumet on there so it doesnt look so plain

Ive just made a false floor today you wont be able make the floor level with the boot floor because a mounting for the seats sticks up inI the middle of it. I ended up making a frame about 3inch of the base to go above the mounting, putting 6mm mdf on that and then sticking the carpet over. Took loads of measuring to get it sit tight around the edges but to still able to lift it out to get to the spare wheel. Im quite pleased with it but i think i need something attached so it doesnt look like a van lol

looking to buy a lupo / arosa sport - what to look out for
kingy89 replied to M7R's topic in Volkswagen Lupo
Main problems with the sports are the gearbox, pedal box (will creak when its going) and the clutch. Also check around the cam cover for oil leaks, quite an expensive fix as you have to remove the cambelt etc. You should find a good one within your budget -

Ive looked into fitting the rear seats but they wont without alot of work for starters lupo rears are split 50/50 with just 2 seats whereas a golf has 3 seats which split 60/40. Would look awesome with the recaros in the back tho
-
Yh the seats are from a mk4 golf and fit very easily with a bit of trimming to the bases
-
Ahhh typical my gearbox has just gone!!!!!! Need the car for saturday aswell to pick the mother up from the airport Least ive got a polo gti box sitting there waiting for this moment lol
-
I got back from collecting these and got fitting them straight away armed with an angle grinder Was realy simple to fit, just needed to take a few mm off the bases on one side of the seat so it can move back and forward. They look so different compared to my original seats lol Pic with both in Im realy impressed with how good they look, so glad i waited for the blue centre's

I havent done much to it lately but Ive got rid of the awful light grey interior plastics and carpet for the black ones just after a few more little pieces. Ive been after a set of blue mk4 golf recaro's for awhile but had pritty much given up then yesterday i stumbled across a front set in mint condition from a 3door for very little pennies So 1st thing tomorrow morning im going to pick them up and have a go at fitting them, crnt wait Ill get some pics up tomorrow O, ive also put some camber shims on it.
