  1. My local village in Leicestershire seems to be hugely overpopulated with Lupos. Population 3,000 and at least 8 Lupos that I know of. One incredibly low black one and plenty of others in nice condition. Has to be some kind of a record.
  2. Was like something out of a Carry On film. Got TyresOnTheDrive out to sort it. Just a bad decision on my part.
  3. Had a little slow puncture on my Lupo. Usually I use an online firm but seeing as I have a brand new tyre on the spare I thought I would just get it switched over from spare to wheel and vice versa. Took it to a little place just over the road from my workshop. Nice simple job? They knackered the slow puncture tyre taking it off and then did the same with the new tyre. Also scratched up and chipped my (already scruffy) alloy. Then they fitted a second hand tyre. Wasn't till I got home I realised it is the wrong bloody size. Went in there with 4 perfect tyres and one slow puncture. Came out with 3 good tyres, 1 wrong sized one and no spare! Got my usual guys coming out tomorrow morning to sort it all out!
  4. Cheers for that. Never realised that the actual lower seat section had a handle underneath and that it popped up! Previously I was only using the catch by the parcel shelf and leaning the seat forward! Mine gets used loads for tools when my van is in for servicing or when parking is tight on a job, so that will be a great help. Monday I had 6 Dewalt Toughsystem boxes, a mitre saw, a radio, and an extractor in it!
  5. How flat should the rear seats fold? Read a few things online about "lifting the seats" to make them fold flatter? At present I just unclip and push them forward. Am I missing something?
  6. First happily married so "banging fat birds" isn't a current hobby of mine Second if I did decide to the Citroen Relay would accommodate the whole cast of Fat Friends. Think it was a fairly cheap factory option. But very rare.
  7. Anyone got the 3 seat option in theirs? Anyone got a set for sale?
  8. You must have felt a little self conscious driving back home with that on the back.
  9. Wise move to remove the stickers. Especially the "two in the pink, one in the stink" one. Anyone reckoning that is a good look is a nailed on future sex offender,
  10. Now I must admit I fell squarely into the second camp! I bought the Lupo solely because it was the safest little car for doing the school run and nipping about. I drive a LWB Relay which can be a bit awkward to park etc. But having bought the Lupo I am edging towards the first camp! Already laying the groundwork for "upgrading" to a "safer" model. Suggested it is a little sluggish for getting across a main road. Funnily enough the model I think is the "safest" is the GTI!
  11. You are not kidding its a comedy price. I could have bought seven of the 1.0e with 70k on it I got 3 months back. And my one is in better nick!
  12. Might be lucky and get a grand off someone who really wants it. But realistically its going to be less. For over a grand I would want an absolutely pristine one with lower mileage.
  13. If I was after one I would be aiming to pay £600 but would go up to £750 top whack.
  14. Personally myself I can see the benefits of offering a huge discount if young drivers are prepared to have their driving monitored. However I think the same should apply to any "at risk" group. Those coming off a ban, those over the age of 70 etc etc.
  15. £2.5k for insuring a 1.0 Lupo is outrageous. Fully appreciate that young drivers are a risk but is it a surprise so many drive uninsured. I am 40 and pay £230 fully comp a year for commercial insurance on my Relay with full NCD But with zero NCD on the Lupo its still only £197 a year fully comp for me and the wife. Has to be some kind of a way of rebalancing it.
  16. For the money its difficult to beat the Lupo in my opinion. Plus for a little motor its crash test videos are pretty impressive. I went for as basic a one as possible as hopefully it will be an extra car for life. Wind down windows and no central locking might save a few quid over the decades! Very happy with my choice. Plus the help from this forum has been a real bonus.
  17. Congratulations on passing your test. VW Lupo would be an ideal first car in my opinion And a 1.0E would be ideal. There are plenty about. I just got one with 70k on it and it is running like a dream.
  18. I am not long into owning a Lupo 1.0E and am very impressed with it. Ticks all the boxes for me. My main priority was getting a little safe car for using after work and for picking kids up etc. But have found it just great fun too. Plus with the seats down it fits a lot of stuff in so getting rid of my rubbish from work suddenly has got a lot easier.
  19. Bought myself a 2001 1.0E Lupo with 70k on it in pretty good nick for £350 a couple of weeks ago. In short, I haven't had so much fun driving for years and years. Main vehicle is a LWB High Roof Citroen Relay but it was just getting too big to use after work for picking the kids up or nipping around. Believe the Lupo would fit in the back of the Relay easily! Looked around at very small cars that were cheap and could fit 4 in. On the look out for the 3 seat rear bench though if one comes up at all out of a Lupo/Arosa. Lupo is just a great little car, should have bought one years ago to be honest. Chose it simply because the crash test video on Youtube looked a lot better than the similar sized Fiats etc. Even though its a little engine it it plenty nippy enough for me. For a very small car its plenty spacious enough inside. Best thing about it is I can park up when I finish work at 3 when the road is empty, and then transfer into the Lupo for after work stuff and find a parking space for that a lot easier. Above all its been great finding this forum. Had some great help and advice and sourced a few bits and bobs that were missing or broken. So thanks to everyone. Even done my first ever oil change. Definitely a convert to Club Lupo!
  20. Has it got the cupholders and cubby hole unit that fits under the stereo?
  21. Changed the oil and oil filter this evening at my workshop. Went pretty smoothly apart from putting a little bit too much in but that was quickly resolved. Used Castrol Magnatec and a Crosland filter off ebay for £27 delivered. As I am a complete novice when it comes to anything related to motors I found this video off Youtube excellent. Plus the assistance from here.
  22. What magazine was this a cover car for? Bizarre? Fortean Times?
  23. Definitely get noticed. Have driven worse though.

    Rear Mudflap

Evening. After a passenger side rear mudflap if anyone has one available. Cheers.
  25. Cheers mate. To be honest I want the minimum to go wrong. So manual windows, no central locking is great.
