  1. Ok. Convinced my local VW that my Pedal Box needed Replacing F.O.C. Today They Had it from 8am to 3.30pm for inspection into the matter. 5.30pm I Drop the Courtesy Car off and go in to Talk... Im told the pedal box has started to crack. And the reason for this is that my clutch is heavy. and the strain from this has caused the pedal box to crack. They said they would not change the Pedal Box unless i have a brand new Clutch and cable fitted... Quoted £565 (im not even sure if that price includes fitting...) Told them i don't have that kind of money. driving the Car home and the Clutch seems very tight and stiff, which it was before but not to this extreme. but im guessing thats how they put it all back. Anyone know what i can Do here. or Suggest an alternative to a new Clutch? i dont mind just doing the Cable. but the clutch is from what im told by my uncle who droves it is fine. it doesnt slip or anything. advice much needed. Thanks All.
  2. Ello. Hard to explain but here goes. clutch makes a squeking/bending noise. wont change into gear 30% of the time (takes a few attempts to engage). very stiff and wont engage crunches gears (5% of time) when fully pressed. accelerator bobs up and down when just using clutch to pull away. whole dashbored vibrates and shudders when pulling away at low revs (1st gear) generally happens with the accelerator bobbing problem. have contacted volkswagen bout pedal box. will replace 100% FOC* but will charge me the inspection fee. (prolly loads of money which i simply dont have...) how much anyway? * took lots of emails to pursade them to even concider the pedal box issue, let alone FOC. attempted to solve myself. Blasted a Whole Can of Carb Cleaner. Result = Car feels better to run but still all problems above... Basically i really have no money to pay the fee if it turns out not to be pedal box. So i need to make sure 90% its pedal box issue before i take it in. Anyones opinion on the matter at hand please reply. Thanks everyone. p.s this rain sux...!

  5. Hola! Welcome! will have a look around your site too.
  6. i personally connected to the top part of the block. you get little red clips that connect te wires together with no mess or cutting. you have about 60cm of wire lenght so i put my box at the back/bottom of the steering column. some people have put behind the centre console. im going to see wether a genuine vw flip key will programme to these rcl units. as i have got instructions on how to progamme the keys for these units, its wether it will recongnise the frequency of the genuine key. Remote setup - coding For Keyless Entry System: 1) Open the control unit (there are 4 screws) 2) Inside the control unit there is a tiny push switch 3) Press the switch for couple of seconds *before pressing the switch - make sure the unit power is connected 4) Press any key on the remote. This step has to be done straight after step 3! 5) That's it! Lupo* p.s i still need info on the boot release negative and positve locks wires/block???
  7. does anyone know the positive and negative release wires for the tailgate remote release? and if possible where they are located? preferably at the pront of the car A - pillar would help! need block colour - wire colours - and position. Thanks

  9. Contacted local VW. and linked them to this thread. and got the following reply. Good Morning. Firstly, we would require the vehicle for diagnosis purposes, as there are many factors that could cause these problems, not just the Pedal Box. If The Pedal box is confirmed to be at fault, VW will contribute 100% goodwill. If you are able to make a convenient booking date, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Regards Becki Hart Service Reception Team Now will VW charge me loads of money if i take it in and they say its not the pedal box? or my other option is i still have a month left of my Engine/gearbox warranty. Appreciate all your help ppl. Lupo*

  12. update. been driving round with reall stiff gears. past few days the clutch has been making a squeaking/creaking noise all the time. (which has only just started) i contacted volkswagen at the begining and they told me know work is due on my car. think is i ave bout a month engine/earbox warranty left... would this be covered? as from what i have read it points to defo pedal box. thanks everyone.
  13. Ok Blower setting 2 is not working with my lupo. Settings 1, 3,4 work fine. from my search i can only find ppl with Setting 4 working only, and the solution is that its the resistor pack. but from my search i have found that when the pack goes setting 4 will only work due to it running at 12v. as my settings 1 + 3 work i dont think this is the problem. what else could it be? Thanks for your time. Lupo*
  14. Have a problem with the passenger door when being locked. when locked it makes a clunk noise as expected, and the door pin goes down. but... about a second later it makes the clunk sound again but louder and not so smooth, and the door pin moves to the open position again. but the door is actually locked. its just annoying as it doesn't sound very healthy on the second clunk sound, and it looks like the door is open as the door pin is in open position. Any help would be much apreciated. Thanks. Lupo* p.s the drivers door is fine and only makes 1 smooth healthy lock sound.
  15. maybe its time you got a rcl kit. fitted mine today. got it because i didnt want to scratch paint work in the dark etc. glad you got it sorted. Lupo*
  16. Yay! fitted te rcl today all went soooo well. concidering i was not very confident. Pretty easy to tell the truth. and all the info for the basic fitting is all included in this thread. but... i dont know the RCL wire for a. Window Roll Up (RCL Colour Wire >> Block >> Wire in Block) b. Boot Release. So if anyone knows please post. Very Happy with the kit and the fobs. 1 of my fobs was not working when i received the kit. but i emailed the supplier and they sent me a brand new fob with 2 extra blades and 2 more vw logos F.O.C and got the next day. Please anyone if you can provide the above not listed on instructions wires. Thanks Lupo*
