  1. Welcome to the world of unibody! The RAM difference should make things a fair bit quicker for you as you'll now have the new and improved DDR3 stuff. Either way, kudos toyour insurance company and I'm goad your HDD data remained intact! Phew!
  2. I'm not usually a rulebreaker but I am far too proud of this shot which I took today in Macclesfield Forest...
  3. My mate has come to stay for a few days, he wasted no time in connecting to my iTunes library via HomeSharing and was soon digging in to my collection!!
  4. Thanks for the replies folks. Spoke to my mate and the iTrip arrived this morning, as some said it's not a 3.5mm jack connection so there goes that idea!! I have since learned that he has the 120gb Classic iPod so we'll just cram that full before we go!
  5. My mate and I are driving up to Scotland for a few days and we have ordered an iTrip for our iPods/iPhones so that we can listen to music easily on the way up... However I have a 16gb iPhone but my Mac is currently home to over 70gb of music... Will an iTrip work in the Macbooks 3.5mm jack? I highly doubt it but just wondered if anyone might know - means I've got the whole of my library to choose from! Cheers Ben
  6. Canon Powershot G10 http://www.camerabox.co.uk/product1.asp?ProductID=6158&gclid=COfc16mNmp0CFRSX2AodexAlTw The G9 can be picked up a little cheaper and that will do just the job the G10 will!
  7. Use the remaining £1 for some Rolo Doughnuts from Tesco. Best doughnuts EVER and will wash that Snackbox down perfectly.
  8. I ridiculed this guy in the first instance, but I just paid $55 for a blink-182 t shirt from the states as it's not available in the UK. I fear I am no longer eligible to shoot down the OP!
  9. My MacBook is the 2.0Ghz and it's happily accepted 4gb of RAM. It does allocate 256mb of the RAM to the graphics engine, but still leaves 3.75gb and most of the time I'm using my computer there is 2gb of RAM free, but it does recognise it all. That's 2gb + 2gb btw.
  10. No wonder there was a crash if he was putting all that stuff together!
  11. I'm picking it up over the weekend. I know about the CRT, apparently it has to be discharged before removal? I'm going to ask my electrician friend to pop by I think - he can then dispose of it for me too! Once that's out the way, I'm on the hunt for a decent, good value 17" LCD TFT and the project can begin...
  12. So I got my eMac, £30 on eBay in good nick and full working order. Not that working order matters!
  13. A subsidary of Nationwide Building Society.
  14. Lol it's not a wrong link, the link isn't about acronyms! it's some of the random things he talks about!
  15. Hi all, If you are looking to renew car insurance, it's a new product we offer through work via one of the top reputable companies. (I work for a Building Society...) If anyone wants a quote, give me a call on 01625 434115 between 9 and 5 and I'll see what I can do... Let me quote you happy (damn, wrong company!!) Edit: Ask for Ben! Mods - Remove if you wish, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to do this or not
  16. Not sure how popular Twitter is with you lot these days, I use it a lot and it wasn't well received when I last spoke about it! But, without need to join or sign up to anything at all, please read some of the things this guy comes up with. I know most of you will have a laugh, give it 5 mins of your time to read!! http://twitter.com/badbanana
  17. Ahhh but when built with a lovely LCD screen and the interface of Snow Leopard, sat in my apartment looking ugly, and like an old, dated concept of a spaceship - it will have a strange beautiful attraction to it. Once I have purchased my eMac for a shell, I shall start a dedicated blog site to document the progress. My aim is to have it with simply one plug - for the mains. Aside from that, everything will be inside the shell, with Apple's wireless keyboard and mouse. Should be interesting. Anyone know how easy it would be to create small amounts of revenue from ads on a dedicated blog site? I'm going to wh*re it around the net for some exposure... so any extra income from ads would be cool.
  18. That is pretty awesome and exactly what I want to do, but with a 17" LCD screen (the eMac pictured above was 17" CRT) Plenty of room inside for a Mac Mini then. Perfect!!
  19. Yes, links! I'd love to see this! All I could find was the CRT being replaced with an LCD, but no hardware being changed.
  20. I am thinking of a project... It involves one of these and taking it apart, fitting an LCD screen and then using one of these to come up with an oldskool looking computer, with a modern day interface and spec... I am wondering if it is possible to do, what problems I may come across and also if it's worth the time/effort...
  21. Lol I know, but I've heard other people say similar. Mine's 11 months old now so i am guessing i'd know by now
