  1. Tonight I very nearly died. I lost power turning into an estate, with a bus coming in my direction. I lost the power steering, which oddly then restored and allowed me to narrowly miss hitting a wall as I'd swung out wide. Pulling up outside my Nans, Loopy came to a chugging stop, before not wanting to turn over again.
  2. Nope, its an LUK clutch, as recommended by the mechanic himself.
  3. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-WHITE-39MM-3-SMD-239-272-C5W-CANBUS-FESTOON-LED-LAMP-LIGHT-BULBS-/371648332136?hash=item5687f78168 Similar to what I have on mine. Might be worth checking on AutoBulbs Direct. Type in your reg and they give you a little thing that you can change on a car and it tells you all the different sizes.
  4. Can confirm: Dipping the clutch does make the noise go away.
  5. Oh i know. You can hear it at 70 yes. Speed has no impact on it as far as i know. Its just acceleration. I'm not sure about the clutch dumping scenario: I will test this shortly. I'd heard a similar thing about injectors: would putting some fuel cleaner through the system potentially cause this?
  6. Yeah: If it's in neutral or if I'm stationary there's no noise. If it's the release bearing, I'm going to be unhappy, since I've just had it replaced with the entire clutch.
  7. The audio isn't great, but you can hear the clicking at several points during the video. After watching this back, I've noticed a second noise too: a grinding noise like I was grinding gears. I can assure you I wasn't: I had my foot fully planted on the clutch at the time of shifting down. Seems to me I need a new gearbox too now.... -.-
  8. Hi all, Recently had a lot of stuff replaced after an MoT, mainly exhaust and emissions related, and now I have a clicking noise when I accelerate. I can accelerate more softly, and it isn't audible. However, if I accelerate normally, it's audible both in the car and outside. It didn't do this before the car went in for the MoT and repairs, and I'm curious. I've done a little research and come across the Evaporative Emissions Valve making a clicking noise, but if it didn't make it before, I don't understand why it is doing it now ? Thanks for any help in advance! Myles.
  9. On the plus side, she's nice and clean now:
  10. I'm getting a weird clicking noise when I accelerate now ....
  11. its annoying when you don't notice things like that. :/
  12. You could always check around on the forums if you wanted to know little bits about each car. I like the TDIs, but couldn't afford one. Be sure to keep us updated !
  13. Welcome! What model of Lupo were you thinking of getting ?
  14. Update: The cat has been fitted, but its still not low enough on the emissions. They're fitting the secondary cat, although i dont know where that is...?
  15. A substantial amount: Exhaust emissions at idle excessive Exhaust emissions at 2nd fast idle excessive Lambda readings out of specified limit Headlight aim too low nearside Suspension arm rubber bush perished resulting in excessive movement Brakes imbalanced across rear axle Rear brake recording little or no effort offside Rear parking brake recording little or no effort offside The lambda problem has been fixed: a new lambda has been fitted. The brake issue was caused by the brake cylinder bursting and leaking brake fluid onto the drum, effectively lubricating the shoes and resulting in a lack of friction. This has been fixed now. The headlamp has been adjusted, and the rubber bush has been replaced, and those are now fine. All Im waiting to hear about now is that the CAT has been replaced and it passed preliminary emissions testing. Once thats done, she will go in for her retest the garage I have taken it to have been really helpful throughout this, and all in its cost just shy of £500, MOT and retest included.
  16. Potentially. She just failed the MOT so it might be a while, but they need refurbing too, so i might have it done all in one go. Was thinking Anthracite Grey, or something similar.
  17. They are BMW E30 Type 10s. Not very many sets out there as far as I know.
  18. They're 4x100 15x7 with 165/50 tyres. I'm thinking of putting thicker tyres on but I kind of like how it's sitting for now. Thank you
  19. Thank you!
  20. Really like the thicker tyres. Nice little Arosa all round!
  21. Just got to sort the fitment out and then I'm done with big modifications. Got lots of little bits planned.
  22. looking good! was looking at some of those alloys myself at one point.
  23. If you can guess the make, I'll post you a cookie.
  24. Bump strips will be going soon, as will the dent in the rear arch and the alloys
