Spotted on north circular today at about half 2, silver gti AJ02 RAT looked very tidy

looking for a full set of standard gti suspension, or does anyone know the probably jaw dropping price from VW? or looking for 2 front fk coilovers to replace the fk g1's on the car as ive been told tonight that one is bent (from the previous owner)

Didn't buy any ball joints as the guy who fitter the arm just said get the arm lol is that likely to affect it then? 99% novice btw Thanks

Hi Guys Need to know what you think could be the problem: Brought my Gti about 2/3 weeks ago knowing it needed work, one problem being that there appeared to be positive camber on the front nearside wheel. After replacing the Astra Sport Steels that were on there with the original Bathurst Alloys and a lower wishbone that was kinked at the wheel end, the camber is much better but still noticable. I thought it may have just been a camber bolt and plate adjustment but on closer inspection the top of the wheel is where is should be in reference to the other side. It therefore seems that the bottom of the wheel needs to come out. What could be causing this, its clear the previous owner has had a smack on a curb or something. I am also having the CV Joint replaced at some point as the boot is split and the joint is running dry. Some people have suggested bent subframe which I am praying is not the case. Any other suggestions? Thanks

Where abouts did you guys get a filter from and how much? Do halfrauds sell them?

Yeah there were some invoices for work at VW Stafford so I called them and they only had records of services that matched up to the papers in front of me, called another garage that had repaired one the under seals and they said they had no record of work on the car, no wonder when it's rotten again and looks like they smoothed down a tonne of filler with a 50 pence piece!

I'm keen to get the car back to standard including little details like this, ill post in classifieds

Yeah just hanging onto to the idea that its been done as in 5 days its ramped up a hefty bill and parts list, lower front nearside wish bone and cv boots are balding the tyre way beyond legal limit to can't even drive it till Sunday when a mate is fitting the parts

Just taken my car to see a good mechanic friend up the road and he immediately noticed that the nearside front lower arm is bent and that it along with the cv boot need replacing. He had said he'll fit them for free but as its balding the tyre and the Astra sport steels are stuck on its quite an urgent job. Anyone know where I can get parts before I call everywhere tomorrow? Rough idea on price?

The lupo iv'e now owned for 3 days came on Astra Sport Steels and the original alloys, having had four new tyres on the originals I have just tried to swap them over... No chance Up on jack stands, giving it hell with the neighbour, the old wood and hammer trick and nothing, not a mm of movement What do you guys reckon? the rears come off fine, the previous owner took them off in front of me to highten the coilovers so i could drive it home (country lanes and speed humps) but the fronts have the hub nut showing through... not sure if theyve been forced on or what...

Sorry guys me again. Driving it home last night I noticed the right number plate light was out, checked it just now and there's no fitting at all... Obviously the gti has a completely different bumper but would a normal lupo light fitting fit? Bumper off, find wiring and connect?

Ah wicked, trouble is I literally just want the badges VW want 12.06 for lupo and 22.38 for gti

Anyone got a passenger side towing eye cover I think it is, the black plastic cover on the front bumper? 'Lupo' and 'Gti' badges

Cheers guys, ill give it a go pulling the switch apart, the 2nd owner (ill be the 4th tomorrow) decided to give It a go repairing it and failed but broke nearly all the clips in the process Strange about the rust but its just starting to get bad on the arches and surface rust on the rear quarter panel is getting bad too, boss has mk5 fiesta zs and had his arches replaced for 280 as its a common fault on fiestas

Has anyone had their rear arches redone from rust? How much was it? Anyone know how much door card clips and a driver side window switch would be?
