Too far for me I'm afraid - I needed to set off on Friday to get there for tonight...(j/k) style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  9. I found Bridgenorth and youre right, its in Shropshire just south of Telford. Link: http://www.multimap.com/map....ut.y=17 I might be able to make this as its within a couple of hours drive from me. Any idea whats going to be there Matt? Also is the date right 'cause the 11th is a Thursday I think? That could make it tricky to get to...

    OZ Polaris 16"

That tyre calculator is a great help thanks Matt style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> It says that changing the standard wheels (205,45 R15's) for 205,40, R16's only makes a 0.87% or 15mm difference in the rolling radii meaning that at a speedo reading of 70 you would actually be doing 70.61 mph. I rarely look at the speedo anyway ( style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />) so I cant see that making too much difference. My only other thought is that its important to find the right tyre to go with the wheel. In the latest EVO the Good Year Eagle F1 comes out tops - any reason why I couldnt use this tyre (actually I wonder if it even comes in the size required???). Also are the OZ Polaris 16's a heavy wheel? The last thing I want to do is put some great looking wheels on my lupo and then ruin the handling and driving experience... Argh help! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

    OZ Polaris 16"

Will the 16's fit straight onto the lupo or do any adjustments need to be made first? Also what tyres would anyone recommend for shoeing them up with? Finally would 17"'s be viable or is that asking for trouble?

QUOTE(bAAx)...will cause "wobbles" that affect the steering geometry of the car aswell as the oscillations in the weight distribution, this will not only affect your confidence, it might also require more grip from the car than is available at that time.I dont know why but any talk of "wobbles" related to driving never fails to bring a smile to my face style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Top class description of losing it in a corner and s******g yourself style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

    Chrome Grills

Is there anyone who makes chrome grills for the Gti? My `zetec-s` had one and it looked really good with the black paint. Would be interested to see what sort of cost is involved in converting the plastic grills to chrome - if its possible?
  18. Of course what we really need is a rich loop benefactor to hire us a castle and track in Scotland for a weekend all expenses paid. I reckon I could get there somehow style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  19. Bah its a shame its so far away for us northerners :/ Looks like another day in't pub with pints of bitter and whippets, etc, etc style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  20. Go for a PC then you could custom build it to "Lupo" specification so it would fit anywhere style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Also the games on the PC are far better than anything ive played on the PS2 or any other console.
  21. Hehe Mat, the ESP mustve been introduced into europe only for some reason... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  22. Gordon I cant find the ESP button mentioned in the manual on mine either so I guess it mustve been an option over here. The idea to not give us a wrench for removing the wheels is a bit shoddy 'cause if I do buy some locking wheel nuts I will have to borrow someone elses wrench to get them on and off style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  23. Cheers Gordon, I forgot you would have a shiny new l00p to check style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  24. Right I checked my boot tonight and found the following: Mini air compressor Bottle of gloop for getting u home if u get a puncture Hook for removing centre alloy cover Half screwdriver, half wheel nut wrench hybrid Now I thought I should have locking wheel nuts as standard but I couldnt find the adapter. So I checked tonight and all the nuts are the same and are fitted by the wrench (by the way how do you use the wrench because theres no T bar or anything to provide any leverage to assist wheel removal should you wish to do so?). Anyway my question is does everyone else have the same equipment or should I be nipping down to the local `auto-store` for an emergency locking wheel nut purchase?
  25. Hmm you could be right about the dash noise being in the tweeter, i forgot about that. As for the seat, I think I'll pass on the "greasing up" and go for the seat winding option style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
