    Exhaust fitted

i dont know how it works and dont claim to, but a used exhaust always sounds better than a new one. run it for a few hundred mile and see if you still dont like it. if not then i would get a cat replacement pipe rather than takin a silencer out, the cat is the worst of the lot, my mr2 spat flames and sounded awesome when i took the cat off that. just remember to keep the cat for mot time.

    Exhaust fitted

its still new, let it get a bit carbon through first and itll sound a bit better!
  3. bell direct were amazing with me, when ihad my mr2 they charged me 500 when everyone wanted over a grand, then it was lowered, 16' momo alloys, exhaust, induction kit, and the stereowere all declared. the total they bumped my price was......25 quid! and that was just for the paper work! nice, then they wanted over 600 to insure the rosa??? makes no sense. so now im with quinn direct, 250 quid for me to drive and my girlfriend as a learner, asked about mods and they said lowering and alloys i can get away with without an extra charge, but owt else cosmetic i have to declare, and engine mods are a no no
  4. the additives are basically changing the oils viscosity at running temp, is there any traces of oil in your water? had the same bother with my primera but when it came to doing an oil change it cured itself, makes me think a lesser oil was use, 0-30 or summit
  5. a car is worth as much as someone is willing to pay, if its got lots of mods then dont bother with autotrader, advertise in max power and the likes, i know it sounds like ive just sent myself down death row but theres always someone whos willing to pay more for a car that already has the hard work don
  6. no leaks? park it on some paper and let it idle for a while, if theres no stains then its looking more costly, does it use water? could be that the coolant/radiator is blocked and its burning the oil off, best bet would be to fit a flow pipe to a water pipe and see if its circuolating. if neither of above then its another story which i'll not worry you with....yet
  7. even better deal, wilko, 2.50 for the pair, lol. better than halfords, i'll never trust them conning b****** after i went in for blades for my mr2 and they said id need a 3rd for my rear window!!! i had to actually take the lad to the car park to prove that the window was bout 8 inchs high and had no wiper, his reply was that he thought i was on about an mx-5, and when i said convertibles dont have rear wipers he said mx-5s arent convertibles, bunch of muppets, wouldnt trust them with anything.
  8. its only a 1.0, if its the same as my 1.0 then the brakes work fine! surprisingly fine! asked someone in the know at work and he says you shouldnt need a press, he does lots of vw work and says he's never needed one yet, so go to it!
  9. yeah, i go double for what he said. ive never heard of anyone replacing a back quarter that wasnt crash damaged

    40mm springs

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/sports-suspension-ki...1QQcmdZViewItem these would be better than just doin the springs for not a lot more money, doing just the springs does nothing positive except cosmetic, its the damper that does the work and if its not suited to the spring then your just pissing in the wind
  11. get a 2nd hand gearbox, would make a lot more sense to sell the car working. but if you dont, i love them alloys, hint hint style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky:" border="0" alt="cheeky.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky:" border="0" alt="cheeky.gif" />
  12. i wouldnt have thought so, but your best bet would be to ask when you go to buy the bearing kit. you gettin pattern parts or oe?
  13. im gonna check my car tomorrow, lol, handy having a pit and steam cleaner at work would a lupo arch liner fit?
  14. sand it down and see if you can hit bare metal, would be a LOT easier to see if its only surface rust before you go changing panels.

    engine swap

id love to be able to chuck loads of cash at it and have a hayabusa 1200 in there and beat practically everything on the road, and have everything else that goes with it, but like i said, cash is a big issue, the daily runabout will be bigger priority. think ive settled into the 14 sport idea now that ive found out how much power you can get from them. will be ideal in a light car

    engine swap

well seein as its gonna be a 2nd car ie my weekend play thing. most of the interior will be goin, just fancy having a decent track day car again. was a lot more bhp than i was expecting, seems like a lot of power from a 1.4. hope she passes before the summer so i have nice weather to get cracking
  22. first impressions, very good quality, it'd be silent if it wasnt for the door locks making noise, seems like theyll last a long time. remotes a bit on the small side but i can live with it. only prob i think i may have is that it works from quite a distance, can see myself unlocking the car from the house!!!
  23. ebay just finished fittin this kit, was pretty easy tbh, took me an hour to do it all. not bad for 25 quid delivered!

    engine swap

1.8t would cost at least 3k and thats me fittin it! this is gonna be my 2nd car so i wont have a fortune to splash on it. so if i get a 1.4 16v, after filter, exhaust what power should i be lookin at? hey mitch, just notied you live in newcastle, im a sand dancer (south shields) is that the customs house in your sig?

    engine swap

there is no engine yet, thats why i was asking in general, im not stupid when it comes to engines but the only engine swaps ive ever done have been swaps for identical engines, ive never had to think about different couplings, sizes, etc. but the only way to learn is by doing it. but i suppose in the end i'll prob go for a lupo gti swap, thats straight forward, isnt it? i must sound like a right fool, but id rather ask and look like an idiot before i invest in gear i cant use
