I was reading Northwick's Wales+Lupo = fun thread and got thinking. I was thinking we could meet at J43 of the M4 or the A470 if preferred near cardiff and merthyr, head up to brecon, maybe across to builth wells and aberystwyth, then back past Ammanford or Carmarthen. Ok guys, I'm thinking about the beginning of April, the weather should be a little better and the evenings a little lighter. I'm wondering whether or not a roadtrip is in order, possibly a run up the Brecon Beacons or something? Suggestions/comments welcome please on the date and the plan of action

I assume you mean the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of April. If you fancy coming down a bit further south let me know, I'm half thinking of a CL South Wales meet in April but can attempt a run up Brecon or somewhere so you'd be welcome to meet us

You keep mentioning lesser-minded individuals and you told me it was my fault for not understanding your rant on the other thread when plenty of people agreed with me. That's a mighty fine high horse you got there. Anyways, at the end of the day, you've bought a car you're happy with. That's great, chuffed for you, blah blah. I travelled to Scotland for mine, from South Wales and I'm more than happy with mine, it's the colour I want, a price I was happy to pay and a half decent spec too. However, what I don't understand is why you feel the need to aggravate everyone with your OPINION and then bang on about GTi owners not liking the truth. The truth is, everyone is different, people pay what they want to pay and feel a car is worth. Now can you please post pics, play nice and SMILE!

I used the P.I springs, found them on ebay for about £100-ish. The handling was fine on it to be honest, I didn't have any issues with it

I'm not sure you'll get insurance till you turn 17 to be honest. Ask your parents to take out a 2nd policy while it's off the road and just keep it insured until you can insure it yourself

Ed, can you post a link to those discs and pads and sidelights please? I'm currently trying to work out an estimated meet date, would it be best to wait until April? I'm gonna be a bit skint after Ultimate Dubs in March and various birthdays over the coming weeks. Can do April as the weather will hopefully start getting better too

I had the suspension springs but not the shocks, it was quite good. Here's a pic

If I can pick up the spoiler on Tuesday and bring it over I'll show you how you can fit it. Up to you then about glueing it too I'm a lost cause on the subs and wiring though!

Maybe it's just me but I'm struggling to see the point of this topic. Fair enough, some GTi's may well be overpriced but as someone said earlier a car is worth what someone will pay. If you're not happy about spending the cash on one then don't buy one. I'm just wondering if there's any need for this rant as ultimately if you think it's worth it then you'll pay it. Frankly I'm more than happy to have paid what I did for mine and I don't think you could compare it to Jap etc, not even to Saxo's or 106's because I'd much prefer a Lupo GTi.

Well I get 7 days cooling off with vodafone, guess I could just see what I think of the phone after the weekend, can always try and change it next week anyway lol. Anyone got a HTC magic or N97 to give a quick review?

I just went for an upgrade in the end. I've got an N97mini coming tomorrow. Apparently Vodafone have stopped doing the HTC magic from their disconnections office but the shops still have them in stock. Ended up getting 600mins, Unlimited txts, Unlimited internet and a free phone for £35 a month. Possibly not my best haggling but it'll do :-)

Hi guys, I'm on vodafone at the moment. I'm after either an N97mini or HTC Magic, not sure which but I've found what seems to be a good deal with T-mobile. It's £35p/m 900 cross network mins, 500txts for 18mths with free GHD straighteners. and the phone costs £10. If I stay with vodafone I'm likely to get the same deal but without the straighteners. Is it worth swapping? Opinions and feedback welcome

Thanks Ed. Glad you had a good time, might be a bit far for you to venture next time but you'd be more than welcome again. In fact we could try and incorporate a night out in swansea too, there's plenty of cheap-ish hotels down here!
