  1. Thanks guys. I agree with the the whole package deal - it seems [aside from what I've heard of the Mk5 gti] to be the only gti worthy of the badge since the Mk 2 really - vw are getting things right again it seems? Especially with the beetle ragster too - holy crapola - have you seen that thing? `Well-rooted` into the custom `air-cooled` scene that thing! Everything comes full circle eh?
  2. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> As Loop Gti's a relike hen's teeth around my area - I was dead chuffed to finally get a call from the local stealer to tell me they had a brand noobie one in. Took it out on Friday with the luvverley lady on motorway and 'a' road. I have to say, that although it was quick off the mark - I thought it would be a lot quicker based on what the forum members have said. Can anybody vouch for a gti after it has been worn in? Are they really all that? I want one pretty badly - but just can't find a year old model to take out to see if it's worth the bucks - it's already won me over cosmetically . . . . . Cheers, Si.
  3. :? Hi guys, Help needed . . . . . Am fitting a 6 Disk boot changer to my wife's polo - strictly not Lupo I know [did own one last year and am looking to buy a gti fairly soon!] but where does the cable go from the head unit to the changer? Is it under the carpet and is it a back seat out job? Any ideas?
  4. snoopstah - heh heh!! i was kind of after black - loving yours though! i'm on my third silva car!!!! time for a change! yeah - read the events thread . . . . .might try and pop along.
  5. Thanks for the info guys . . . . . Yeah - I've seen the one in Cardiff - was looking spend around the 8,000 mark perhaps - that's if I do eventually go for one . . . . . When are you guys in Swansea this weekend then? :?:
  6. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Hi people! Been a while since I posted last - got rid of my 16v loop when we had our first child for a bora sport 115 bhp [size of the boot etc!] I am seriously considering a loop gti i loved the old one that much - tell me though - in comparisson to my old mk 2 8v golf gti and me bora - exactly HOW much fun are they to drive then?! How quick?! They're like hen's teeth around here [swansea] can't find one for love nor money to test drive! Hint hint to anyone in the vacinity!!!! MPG, insurance too?? Help me out people!!! Cheers! Si.
  7. I changed the dash on my Lupo [V plate] and the tweeters - as fas as I remember, just popped out with a small, flat bladed screwdriver and then I `un-plugged` them.
  8. A couple of companies have been doing that kit for a while now - i've seen it on the Big Boys Toys ad in performance VW - works out at around £120 if I remember correctly. I THINK that Euro Car Parts do it too - it was cheaper too . . . . .
  9. If Loudlupo's spoiler is fitted directly - I take it it covers the recess left by the existing brake light then???? ???
  10. Hopefully I'll be there too - camera in hand! Too good an opportunity to miss! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  11. Tigz, I've thought about the Ibiza splitter - nice little touch I thought . . . . . expensive part? Easy to fit?? ???
  12. Hi guys and gals, Any ideas on how I can secure a 6 Disk Changer in the boot WITHOUT paying the `rip-off` £50 price for the mounting cage and bits from thedealer - either that, or has anyone GOT a VW mounting bracket that they don't need/use??!!! Cheers peeps!
  13. Woohoo! Count me in for 2 of the old styleees!
  14. Hi chaps and chapesses, I was just reading the old thread on part numbers - has anybody fitted the Gti honeycomb grille to a standard loop?? Will it fit I wonder?! :sarc: Cheers!
