update we had the rollign road day here are the results top graph is from last year - 84bhp at wheels bottom one is from saturday border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />
-
yeah the induction kit will fit 100% sure the TB is about the same size give or take a few mm
-
to get hold of alan it might be best to om him or email him as he don't come on here often
-
quick update i have got the chip fitted to the car, had a wee problem with it when i first fitted it coz the chip sat too low and the car didn't start but this was solved after i spoke to alan anyway after having a quick spin in the car i can feel some difference in the car u can't expect a simple chip to give you loads more power but i have noticed that the car picks up faster and also is easier to drive so basically for £150 i reckon its well worth it it will be on the rollers this saturday so hopefully we will see some difference in the power and more importantly the torque figure
-
just a wee update alan has now got the code for the chip i will have it on saturday and i will fit it on the same day then it will be going on the rollers the saturday after heres a link to the info http://www.porka.net/modules.php?name=Foru...iewtopic&t=1285

i use the scissor jack and the wack a trolley under on the lip on the sill
-
that tray is a right hassle when you drop stuff down there i have dropped sooooo much stuff down there and everytime its something important so i end up having to jack the car up which in itself takes 30mins getting the damn car on planks of wood then i take the tray off held on by a few 10mm or 13mm plastic nuts once thats off all the bits you have dropped bits back!
-
i am not expecting more power from a chip like tigz said the driveability of the car should be improved my car has a big dip in the torque curve at about 3600rpm or something and i would be happy enough if the chip decreased this big dip we will see if it does make any difference in 2weeks time
-
i have heard that you need to grind off 2mm from the G60 carriers to make them align up for the discs dunno how true this is but this is what i have heard
-
its £25 a run i think or it might be £20
-
ah the phases 1 jobbies they do look very nice but as you say they are bloody rare some were on ebay a while back and went for stupid money
-
on the webiste they say that the discs are 280mm x 22mm, so i dunno if the kit comes with all the carriers etc needed for the bigger discs but i don't see why the polo gti brakes won't fit on the 1.4 16v brakes.
-
i hated them when i first got the polo but they started to grow on me all depends on what car they are on me likes
-
i reckon you are in luck my mate has written off his mk4 polo with a gti in it
-
new piccies no new mods  border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />
-
yeah tigz for a 280mm conversion all you need is 280mm carriers and the discs and pads the 1.4 16v engined cars have the same brakes set up as the gti models all 256mm'ers
-
QUOTE(Scottish_Sport_16V)Are the sport and Gti breaks not the same?they are they both use 256mm discs like the polo gti and the polo 1.4 16v the gti ones might be a bit thicker but i don't see a problem with gti using sport discs because the piston just makes up the extra gap from the thinner discs
-
nooooooooooooooooo stay away from EBC discs they are cack i had a set and they warped in no time i have got a couple of mates who have had the same problem with EBC discs go for some pagid discs and pads i have heard that zimmerman are pretty good as well
-
not being a fool here but i reckon most you will think i am but i reckon performance panel filters are a waste of money i have got a pipercross one in the shed,it didn't make any difference in sound when fitted and when tested on a rolling road at uni (we have a rolling road in the lab) it didn't give any increase in power what so ever compared to a standard paper filter..........

paddy you getting 90bhp @ the wheels don't suprise me 2 yrs ago we had a rolling road shoot out at another rolling road place and my car was putting out 96bhp at the wheels!!!!!!!!!! and my girlfriends was putting out 103bhp @ the wheels!!!!!!!!!!!! insane so it just shows you that the vw engines give more power than they state and also all rolling roads vary ALOT!! have a look at the following link for the bhp table http://www.`polo-gt`.co.uk/events/rrday03.html
-
all i have is a full system janspeed exhaust no engine mods the red is the power @ wheels green is power @ fly blue is the torque my girlfriend has the same polo with a supersprint exhaust and she got 122bhp at the fly beaten by me missus by 1bhp!
