  1. There's a 20mm piece of box section that sits underneath the middle of this plate, then we have welded a captive 8mm nut inside of this. Got an 8mm rod and alloy spacer that holds the wheel down, plenty strong enough :-). Sadly I didn't, should have!
  2. Yeah I'm really happy with how it turned out! Small 8mm thread in the middle for securing a spare wheel as well. The under seal makes the welding interesting with it catching fire constantly! Just need to paint it now :-)
  3. Should be about 10.9:1 , standard about 10.2:1 :-)

    Lupo GTI Bonnet

Haha how bad? Any pictures? :-)
  5. Lupo sport front callipers & carriers. £20 collected from Wigan or £25 posted.
  6. So we've stripped the head of the engine, inlet valves are perfect when cleaned up in the lathe! Exhaust ones are being refaced, along with getting the block skimmed, taking 20 thou off it, which will up the compression ratio. I managed to snap a piston ring also when cleaning it, doh! Was hoping this would be done for the weekend, but it doesn't look like it will be. Will most likely be looking at removing spare wheel well and making a new exhaust this weekend instead!
  7. Yes, very impressive! Although for the price of the club sport I'd just got for the R. I love mine! I had a GTI performance pack before it and that was great as well!
  8. Cleaned the block down as it was all flaking. Gave it a fresh coat of Grey, looks a lot neater, plus will make it easier to spot any leaks if there are any!
  9. I think they've done particularly well to do it with an aerosol as well! I got mine done by a body shop in the end back when I did mine, as you say it can easily look terrible!
  10. The left heater vent Approx. half way down either side there are clips that hold it in. Using a very fine flat head screwdriver, this just pops out. The Drivers side one Remove light switch (Push in whilst turning it clockwise, then pull) Disconnect wires off back of switch There is a T20 screw underneath where the switch would sit, remove that Remove T20 screw inside of where the light switch was. Unit should begin to pull out Remove the wiring off the back of the dimmer part, this pulls out. Center Pieces Remove radio and any of the slots in there, leaving an empty double din slot. There are 3 T20 screws that need to be removed - 1 at the back in the centre , two at the very front of the trim on the inside edges. Pull on trim piece, it will come out with a bit of gentle persuasion. Remove indicator by pressing in the metal tabs you'll see around it. The T Piece in the center There isn't much of a "method" to this as such, as it's bonded/plastic welded in Use a small flat screwdriver and gradually break clips off, moving around the T piece until it freely lifts off Hope the above helps! Taking the front fascias of the heater parts should be fairly obvious as well, there's little clips on the top and bottom holding them onto the vent mech part! Calvin
  11. Will other model Lupo glass fit? - I believe so, yes... Is the thickness enough to notice? - In what way, in terms of weight or just looking at it?
  12. How odd.... I thought I'd wrote something with it! Anyway no that's the new AFH engine I have got from a polo... In the process of rebuilding it! todays rally went well. 37th o/a and 2nd in class! Slight incident running into the back of another Lupo, a 1.4 that we beat! New suspension set up made the car drive completely differently, loved it! Just need some slicks now....

    Apex RDX Coilovers?

Decided against them. Gone for some Weitecs and changed the springs to stiffer 10" 225 ft lbs ones. Seems good!
  14. 280mm, I've already upgraded to the GTI 256mm brake setup, so the next logical step for now is to try out the 280mm, as it's only a carrier change. Although I won't be fitting them whilst the current engine is in. Nice, I didn't realise you were using a different user name for now! Looking good. When is the next race?
  15. Preview of a future upgrade... And installed 5bhp to the front of the car
  16. 10" 225ft lbs springs fitted, happy with the ride height! Pretty much sorted for the weekend, not much to do now.
  17. Got some TA Technix sport suspension for sale (Springs & dampers). £70 from Wigan, or contact if you need postage. Good condition no leaks etc, £120 new. Cheers
  18. When funds allow they will be going on! Fitted the weitecs today, much better handling... However the 6" springs weren't great. Fitted some 12" 200ft lbs springs which improved things greatly, but still a bit soft. 10" 225ft lbs springs going on later in the week. Turns out the weitec Spring perch takes a weird size of 2 3/8" springs. We machined another adapter and top mount that will accept 2.25" springs. Also going without the helpers.
