Evening all, Going to go ahead with dropping a Polo GTI lump into my 1.0 loop. i want to start building up a collection of parts ready to crack on with it in the new year sometime. So from what I understand i need the following Engine (obviously) Keys,ecu,looms 1.4, sport gearbox sport or GTI rear beam etc. Will the front beam need upgrading to one off of a gti/sport/1.4 or could i just upgrade the discs etc? I understand that one of the engine mounts has to be changed. is this the passenger side one and if so do i need a specific polo gti mount or will a standard polo one suffice.? Also, what is the situation regarding pedal boxes? I'm sure i've missed a few things off here but if anyone could help it would be appreciated. all in all i'm just after what parts i need and what type is best suited basically. cheers jacob

Tried wheels and spacers and it's all good just desperately need to get her bottom a lot lower! Can't see there being any major updates between now and Xmas, probably just get wheels sprayed and arches done. Jacob.

Yeah 15mm front and 17mm rear gonna be pokey but wouldn't be happy running spacers that don't bolt to hub so had to be 15. I agree with what your saying joe and I'm going to go for a static stance and see how I feel in a year or so (:

Just a little update. Couple of days off so putting the cults on tomorrow to work everything out in terms of stance and getting sized up for arch rolling. At the back end of last week was speaking to fk regarding getting a pair of short springs and going to buy highsports to replace the JOM's currently on the car, just can't warrant air at the moment when I want a gti lump. Nice example you got there! As for people saying Air isn't worth it; some think coilovers and lowering cars isn't worth it. People have different views etc. air is worth it if you think it is. It's definitely more practical!

Right I need to order custom rear springs and I'm not sure of the measurements asked for below. I would measure them myself but flat out at the moment. ok, are they parallel springs. If so I need the length/inside dia/wire thickness+no of coils I know the length I want the springs to be I'm just wondering if anyone knows the rest about JOM rears? Cheers

Right basically I've had jom's for best part of a year and the backs are all the way down but as I understand its common that the back isn't that low. I've tried fk for their short springs but had no reply a while back so I'm looking at getting some made up, so I'm just wondering what you guys are using and how low are you ?

So, the momo is on, wheels are being sprayed in next few weeks. Then onto the bodywork. Smoothing front bumper, touching a few bits up and arches are getting rolled for the wheels. Pics to follow

Looking for a new clock spring. Does anyone know where to get one at a reasonable price or if there is an alternative. For expanple would the mk4 golf one fit?

I was just after the tool for the spline but I've sorted that now and it's a t55 torx /)
