  1. Yeh, ive come on a fair bit since with a few years of use, nice to look back and see what i started from lol. Only really use photoshop for graphic assembly now, not done any cars in a while, may try and make an up to date shop to compare with these old ones lol!
  2. The Attendance List... 1. BEP51 - Ben - Red Lupo Sport - (clubstand & Interested in track session too) - n/a 2. sheepslupo - Shaun - Black Lupo - (clubstand only) - Details Received Via PM 3. 3. Hire one for a day - 20 to 25 quid and take your time using a heatgun, if you really are careful and the roller part of the tool is in good condition you shouldnt split paint. Looks good in your pics though!
  4. managed to find another set of black mk2 arosa clocks! cost even more... but will be worth it!
  5. You don't need camber, you just need to borrow an arch roller and heatgun to fold the inner lip back up inside. Take your time keeping the paint warm so as not to split your paint. Looks great on the wheels though!
  6. Heya, will be ordering another set of clocks soon, got to wait a few weeks for the binnacle to arrive from Spain anyway. Updates will be slow after this as I just shelled out a grand to build a new computer. Full respray and alcantara red doorcards and seat centres will have to wait. But hopefully should be able to work and earn a fair bit more productively with a new supercomputer As for red and blue clocks and the blue headunit lcd screen, when everything else is red, blue seems a bit odd to me :s
  7. Cheers, just had some bad news in the form of a call from the breaker in Manchester about the clocks.... The guy didnt realise that there are two versions - the full black and the half grey half black ones, he had two sets and unknowingly posted the full black one to someone else yesterday... At least he called before sending the wrong item, but now means i have to continue my search - and probably get one thats more expensive...
  8. Just had a few purchases... Bought the clocks from a Seat Arosa Mk2 that I plan to split so that I can keep my backing screens and all the electronic bits and get rid of the last bit of grey plastic on the car and replace it with the black rings from this: In order for this to work I also have to have a Seat arosa binnacle cover rather than the double breast lupo one, so phoned Exeter Seat and they have ordered the two parts from Spain so will hopefully be available for collection soon. Will put up pics when its done in a few weeks Also considering getting a seat headunit to canabalise for the red LCD screen to replace my blue one and then swap the red LED parts in the clocks over to get rid of the blue from there. Then every single thing on the interior is either Black, Red or Chrome!
  9. Here is what the 2011 Clubstand looked like despite the rain! 2012 didnt happen due to poor attendance but we still had 5 or 6 lupos dotted around. Get your names down and your details PM'd people!

    LED Sightlights

the second set wont fit - tried them on a friend's lupo - dont fit through the hole - which is a pretty stupid design floor. I have the non-led blue ones that produce only a dim white light - not very bright but just look clean.
  11. Well Autometrix have sent out their booking forms again so I need a list of names for the clubstand, have had a good turnout the past 2 years, lets see if we can better it - and hope the weather is better than last time! If 12 people are interested we can even book a club only track sesh at £40 each (+ fiver to rent a helmet from memory) - doubt we will get this many interested but thought I would mention. Your car does not have to be a perfect show car - far from it - just nice to be able to park all the cars together to meet some other owners rather than just posting up spotted threads on here after the event! PM me your real names and addresses - and ideally mobile number too - so I can get your paddock pass posted out to you (I will fund the stamp cost - so not wanting any monies!) You pay £10 on the gate. Details available here : http://www.autometrix.co.uk/trackdays/club_display.html The Attendance List... 1. 12. Cheers, its easy enough to get to and change, 1 arch liner screw either side and the two front bolts then it just pulls away at the edges. Just tested mine this evening to see how the new bulbs look and found it wasnt working again - had a look and turns out the bulb has just exploded :s seems to be a bigger problem than just the corroded connection that i sorted yesterday.
  13. Heya, got one of the eBay cheapie remote flash systems to get used to it, works fine 50% of the time, but sometimes fails to fire, will be getting a better set at some point tho as i would want them to be a bit more reliable. Flashes - I have two ancient canon speedlite300ez's on independant tripods which do the job fine - would be nice ot be able to adjust them a bit more - but they are cheap so hey. Camera is Canon 550d, went for my kit 18-55 for these as even tho my 23 year old lenses (35-70 and 100-200) are far superior, you have to be too far from the subject to get them all in frame and the remote flashes are more likely to misfire. Still contemplating taking a local chap up on an offer for a 10-22 canon, but I did want the version with the lower f-stop value so may wait a bit.
  14. Been practicing my flash photography this evening...
  15. Other issues aside, this is how it sits now full side view.
  16. Finally the tyre shop got round to fitting my tyres at 8 in the evening yesterday, he also retapped my rear hub - so hopefully no more issues with that. It was too late for him to stick the old tyres on the sport wheels, so i left them overnight for him to do in the morning. Cleaned the car this morning to get grease off of the tyres only to reveal that all 4 wheels have been damaged by his tyres machine with gauges in all of them, so i now have to repaint all of them, went back to complain and pick up my other wheels. Other wheels still werent done at 5pm in the afternoon when they were a "first-thing-in-the-morning" job, then i saw them chucked in a corner, checked they were all ok still only to find they had been piled on top of each other and two now require a respray. I complained, no offer to pay for paint to repair them, so i took the wheels away with me to get Lee to do them on saturday in Plymouth. Not going to Kingston Motors again, hes been helpful in the past and i've overlooked bad wheel alignment, a gauge in my bonnet and a cracked mirrorcase from past visits but this was too much, he just doesnt give a s**t so he has now lost a regular customer and my parents two cars and horse lorry, and my grandmothers car from his servicing, hes also to blame for scratches on the R32's bonnet and wing from leaning over it with his belt buckle... Anyway, wheel refurbs will hopefully happen this weekend as well as tyre fitting on the Sport wheels. Here's how it looks now, although quite dusty :/ Also wound the front down another 5mm
  17. Fog light bulb change - but didnt happen as i had to order the correct bulb off ebay. Still - the photo looks cool. Up early 2moro to get tyres swapped over!
  18. Heya, im only going to be down in Plymouth for weekend visits for the moment as i have only a one day a week job in taunton with a small Architecture firm. But I'm sure i will be down at some point to meet up. Cheers! I love the wheels, and even my parents who hate that i made any changes at all - admit they quite like them. I like the car to be handsome and not showy, You only really notice the changes when you get into a near standard interior - then you appreciate. Next up will be a seat arosa mkii binnacle cover and clock surrounds to get rid of the mismatched grey around my current clocks.
  19. Few things to update in my online car diary... Dear Diary, today I did this: Gave the lupo a rinse to remove the avian missiles, Then I made a flat boot to make the car into a 2 seater as I never take rear passengers anyway and bootspace is greatly improved! left the seatbelts to help secure luggage, will be adding a cargo net or two at some point. Quite proud of my craftmanship If any other Lupo peeps are interested in one, now I have the template I can make one up for you for £125 if your happy to collect from Taunton. My new rubber also arrived, super sticky low profile goodness! My current tyres dont really need replacing, but I just wanted lower profiles, and as it is a shame to waste good tyres... The return of the sport wheels! they received a fresh refurb in VW Satin Silver to match the ATS's. They will be my track tyres for combe as with no spacing, rolled arches and 10mm higher offset, they wont catch on anything no matter how hard I push it. Tyres getting fitted tuesday, and getting my rear right hub re-tapped as every bolt I put in it is single use... Less noteworthy, I bought a new aero rear wiper conversion which looks much smoother compared to the original. I also bought a new gear gaitor with red stitching so that it matches everything else in the car! I also kept with the red theme and fitted LED footwell lights, they are nice and subtle and are wired to the interior light so are only on when I open the doors, they do suit the car as they add to the red so no complaints! Only got a daytime pic atm: Didnt previously properly post up the suede headling and blacked interior plastics despite it happenning before i went to switzerland. And another red light And to finish, a photo of how it sits now. Will be dropping a further 5mm on the low profile tyres which will allow for me to wind the fronts down another 5mm to make up for the 5mm new arch gap, the rear stays the same as it cant go lower as it already has the adjusters out.
  20. They are easy to just swap over, but i specifically want to paint them black so have to remove the clear plastic part.
  21. Took out my clocks yesterday with the aim of splitting and removing the glass so i could paint the two dished parts in satin black. All going fine till it came to splitting, are they plastic welded somewhere? ive already deduced that the allen hexes on the front are fakes and not actually a fixing. Any advice would be good - debating buying another set to work on in case i break the dishes.
  22. Back from Switzerland now, bit torn as to where to live as I have a 1 day a week job in Taunton which barely covers fuel to-and-from Plymouth, but in Taunton at the moment so made the use of parental facilities to give the car a full workover cleaned inside and out. ^^^ New suede headlining and blacked interior plastics ^^^ Just ordered my new tyres last night, Yokohama A539's 185 50 14's as I decided that I would rather suffer lows than suffer tyre scrubbing, road legal slicks just werent available in the desired sizes so gave them a miss for now so hopefully they will be good, here within a fourtnight hopefully. Just got to find time to get some paint quotes...
  23. Taken this afternoon on a mountainside in Switzerland - Unedited - taken with a gradiated cokin filter and a polariser. on the 18-55 kit lens. I like snow - But the Swiss seem to hate it lol
  24. I may be away but have been ebaying for my return - hopefully a pile of packages waiting for me! - New rear wiper aero upgrade - New rear plate LED's as one broke just before i left - Red footwell LED's - will look good as i will wire them to the interior light - which is also red - and i will tuck them up nicely so they are very subtle. - New gear gaiter Other things: - Rear boot handle and front bumper getting repainted for free as the paint hasnt lasted. - Roof and bonnet and arches getting repainted to de-rust and tidy up. So hopefully i feel confident enough to show it this year as there really is little more to do to it in the way of bodywork... then interior time! Still undecided on tyres - i want lower profiles but dont want the extra lows due to the current height tearing my undertray to bits - want roadlegal slicks but dont want to die on a rainy day or have to replace them every few thousand miles, so will probs buy the same yoko s-lines again and swap current tyres to old sport wheels for track use. Also ordered some more photography bits: - More flashes - Remote flash fixings - Wireless triggers - Exposure timer Cant wait to be back in the UK!
