  1. I assume not too much... It's only a single 12" sub and a new double din that I've added.
  2. Where the woman hit into the back of me?I haven't gone through the insurance as she is just going to give me the money for the damage.
  3. Hi guys, I recently fitted my new stero and sub into my car. A few hours after everything was fitted, my battery died so we fiddled around with a few things and made sure that the stereo and amp turns off when the keys are out of the ignition etc - this seemed to solve the problem. When I went to get a new battery I also got them to check my alternator which is fine. The new battery has been on for about a week and has this morning decided to die. Just a normal dead battery situation where the lights are displayed on my dash but when you try to turn it over it just clicks. I assume its something to do with how the wires are connected behind the stereo but I really can't see anything that's wrong with how it's wired up at the minute :\ Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  4. It's all good - if you need any help just message me on here or Facebook I'll have to make an effort to drive around more so you can spot me lol!
  5. Indeedy it was. I take better care of it than he ever did though Technically I could as I've finished my learning plan ie college and NVQ but we have to do 6 months of competences from March - September before being upgraded to full pay NVQ is a piece of piss - you'll do it within a month or so!
  6. Haha says you with your approach to my job! I'll have you know EHM with industrial engines is a LOT different than EHM at Derby That's good, I should be out in September if all it good Yeah I pick up the boyfriends brother as I work in the technology park down the road. I'll be giving him lifts again next week. Haha thanks. I'm now in the diesel so if the car sounds rough/noisy that's why.
  7. I work at Rolls-Royce. Used to be at the Ansty site but my department moved to Warwick. The apprentice application is open until this Friday so if you want to apply then do it now lol. I'd recommend applying at Derby (where Pat is) as its more secure as I'm sure you've heard Ansty has just cut about 350 jobs. I would also recommend the BMW apprenticeship at Hams Hall which my boyfriend is currently on, or even Alstom in Rugby. All of the applications end in the next few weeks/months so if you are serious about doing an apprenticeship you need to get applying now I work 7-3 so I'm only driving around at silly hours with the occasional trip to ASDA lol. Woah I go to sites and do performance testing - you just sit at a machine and press buttons or look at cracks My wage goes up to NVQ pay in the next few months plus I get fuel allowance for moving sites - plus the boyfriend is on about the same as me Just prettying it up, probably will put on an induction kit - I'm not changing anything about the engine just rebuilding it
  8. I'm 18 I'm a 'equipment health monitor and performance engineer' but I'm still on an apprentice wage until September. To be honest I'm lucky because my boyfriend buys a lot of parts as he's not got a car to waste money on anymore
  9. Is there any particular reason your looking at new wheels? It's just that there are a lot of 4x100 wheels out there which look good, are a reasonable price and are likely to come with tyres. Have a look in the classifieds on here, edition 38 and wheelwhores. Like said above, I'd stick to 14's or 15's with at least a width of 6"
  10. A lot of people like 13's/14's on lupos but its personal choice - I quite like 15s. I don't know if 12's fit but I imagine even if they did they'd be ridiculously small! Do you realise that the PCD for all of those wheels is wrong? It should be 4x100
  11. Thanks It was brand new from VW but I got it off eBay. Basically the guy had an accident, got a new bumper but never put it on. I recently got quoted £130 for a new non sport bumper for my tdi so I assume it'll be around that mark
  12. The engine has not had the bare minimum but if I start changing every part that doesn't need replacing I may as well go straight to VW and ask for a brand new engine? The car will get what it needs, even if it is not fully needed, and a few bits to pretty it up, why fix what doesn't in any way need fixing? Like I said, if it does need doing then it will be done The bumper had had a small amount of filler work prior to me owning it and it resulted in a very small blemish in the finish so I thought as it wil be painted anyway I might as well get a new genuine bumper
  13. The car once done is only going to do minimal miles to shows and back and the occasional weekend run, so I will have whatever the engineer says needs to be done, but I won't be replacing what doesn't need to be replaced
  14. A few minor updates: Got hold of a mk5 golf boot lid and handle which is going to be used on Alva's boot - got to get rid of the standard ugly lupo boot handle Plus I've finally put on my new sport bumper
  15. So today's been very busy! Finally wired in the sub, rewired the back of the head unit and fitted new speakers Plus I've decided to put my new head unit into Henry until Alvas done So happy that I can now drive to work without my headphones in!
  16. Everything being checked so if they need doing then yes.
  17. The boyfriend dropped my head off today to get skimmed, valves reseated and valve stem seals
