  1. Does your car have a sun roof? Not sure on lupos but a lot of cars have issues with the sun roof drain tubes blocking up and then breaking open at the connections behind the dash, but it could really be one of a thousand things
  2. I don't have the adjusters in, just the spring and mines fine. Been running it for about a year now like that. I'm not sure what the part no. is for the FKs but I'm sure someone else on here does
  3. I have these coilovers and I've got to admit the back doesn't go low enough and there's not much you can do which is why I'm changing to the short fk rear springs.
  4. Thanks! So I'm STILL waiting for the tdi to be fixed. The neighbour went on holiday but has promised to fix Henry this Satuday - woop!
  5. I'm missing Alva rather a lot - think it's mainly because she looks so sad and unloved on my drive at the minute Been looking through some old photos...I think I miss my tints! Anyway, I'm FINALLY moving house next Thursday so after that Alva will be in the garage with her engine out if all goes well!
  6. I'm just waiting for my neighbour to get chance to fix the wiring Shouldn't be too long now
  7. I recently changed the battery on my tdi. I think it was this one: http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=260877538330&index=0&nav=SEARCH&nid=41559346601
  8. I love driving the polo but I'm gunna have to keep Henry, he's so pretty! Fuse box is on its way, I'm hoping it'll be here by Tuesday. Henry can then finally be fixed!
  9. Love 15s on my sport. 165/50/15 are the tyres I'm using which have good stretch on 7.5j
  10. Thanks for all the comments I know I won't be able to let Henry go as I've put so much time into him and its still an unfinished project so ill just have to deal with my fears! I'm hoping that the wiring will be repaired this weekend, also while he's off the road he's being treated to a new wheel bearing which was picked up in the MOT. There's still loads of things to do but the main thing is getting him back up and running ASAP! After that it'll be back to the nice finishing touches
  11. Thanks for all of the replies! Luckily my neighbour is an auto electrician. He had a look earlier today and said he could easily repair it for me as long as I get hold of a new fuse box. So it looks like its only going to cost me about £40 plus a fuse box which is a massive relief! I'm split of what I should do with Henry though... Obviously he's going to get fixed but I don't know if I want to keep him anymore. I know I'll be worried about something going wrong again but I spent sooo much time and energy trying to get him to look nice so I don't know what to do. I'm hoping that when he's fixed and the boyfriend finishes his wheels that maybe I'll want him again... I think I need some other people's opinions. On a more positive note, some little updates... The material for covering the headlining arrived this week I have also aquired an engine cover
  12. Thanks for all the lovely comments! Unfortunately Henry had a little accident this morning...involving fire... It seems that the previous owner did some DIY wiring...Which left me calling 999 at about half 6 this morning! The only plus side is that I got some dishy firemen to rescue me So the damage: Luckily there was a layby just as Henry decided to set on fire so I managed to get the bonnet up quite fast after having a mini freakout! So I think that the paint is all okay... I'm obviously releaved that the damage isn't too bad but really didn't think that I'd ever have to deal with something like this...especially within the first week of driving him! I'm going to be driving the boyfriends polo until Henry can be fixed up as Alva is out of tax and MOT So I now have 2 cars, neither of which I can drive! If anyone has a lupo tdi engine loom lying about then I'd be VERY greatful if they let me know - I'm desperate!
  13. So Henry is now officially on the road! Is in serious need of a clean, final touches and his very own wheels finished!!
  14. Thanks! So Alva ran out of MOT yesterday so is off the road now It's not all bad though as she'll be getting an engine rebuild once I move house next month I'm going to miss driving her as my daily but I really can't put anymore mile on the clock. I'm hoping to have her ready for UD next year with a nice sprakly clean engine bay...fingers crossed!
  15. So yesterday Henry went for his MOT... There were a few issues getting it onto the ramp and through the MOT....The joys of being low Unfortunately there were a few issues so he failed...however, he is being fixed this morning so hopefully the retest will go better!! ...Nearly there
  16. Henry won't be a show car that's for sure! So a bit of todays progress Also the interior plastics are now nearly all in so insides looking a lot more complete too! The only issue is that the previous owner made a mess of the wiring for the head unit so it no longer works...looks like I'll need to take a trip to the breakers yard. Henry's nearly not a project anymore!
  17. I have no idea. I doubt it as its such a lovely colour Haha they're both far from proper show cars. The tdi is a very pretty looking daily though!
  18. So I've finally been allowed to put up some pictures of Henry. There's still a lot of work to do rebuilding him but he's getting there! The tax and MOT runs out on my other car at the end of next week so Henry best be done Henry at the bodyshop! And finally home! So some photos before the rebuild starts... Henry & Alva! So some of todays progress... Windows in Drivers seat in! Interior plastics I'm hoping to finish off the interior plastics tomorrow, get the other seat in and just tidy up a bit! The boyfriends got to get on with fitting the front bumpers and fitting a new inner CV gator. There's still loads of little bits to do but they'll probably be a few weeks/months down the line. Henry needs to be on the road for next weekend so I'm purely just trying to get the main things done to get him through an MOT. So...What do you all think...?
  19. Looking good The 20mm spacers make all the difference!
