  1. Hey, been on here a long time but never got round to posting up my wee Arosa S TDi. I actually bought the car off of the forum after I joined, bought it in June 2010 and love it to bits! Done quite a few miles in her and now has 110k on the clocks but runs like new I was used to tuning to and modifying cars however I wanted to keep it standard and stayed that way for over 2 years until recently. I was fitting all new suspension bushes one weekend, and the next week a front spring broke! So the car got some coilovers and this is how she looked on standard Arosa Alloys... So then I went on the hunt for some banded steel wheels, I had always wanted a set for my Golf VR6 which I sold to buy this, so on to eBay I went and bought some banded steel wheels, 8J fronts running 195/45/14s and 9J rears running 185/50/14s. And on the car... However I was not happy with how much "Poke" I had on the back and also did not feel comfortable driving with the rear tyres being so stretched, so ordered some standard steelies and got them banded an inch to 7J for the fronts and I would run the 8Js on the rear. So the new wheels arrived and they all got sanded down and painted in the house and cured in the oven... And in the mean time of them curing I removed the standard Arosa lights and fitted Lupo rear lights... From this... To this... And also bought some MK4 Golf Recaro seats, so fitted those as well (Rears to be trimmed later) The with the steel wheels fitted (Fronts 7J with 185/50/14 and Rears 8J with 195/45/14) And cleaned... And that is how she is at the moment. Cheers
  2. Here is my Arosa S TDi Lowered on Coilovers, all new suspension, Banded Baby 14" G60 steelies (7J front and 8J rear)
  3. Sounds like a faulty/poor connection to an earth. Follow the earth cables and make sure the crimped ends are secure and there is no corrosion between the surfaces. Hope you find the problem
  4. I had stiff gears, mainly going in to reverse and some of the other extreme gears like 1st and 5th on my TDi. I found that the gear linkages needed adjusting, but make sure you free off the threaded rod section beside the twist lock as they sometimes stick as well.
  5. Nah i've lub'ed everything that can be lub'ed. But I think I've found the problem, think the reverse light switch is jamming the gear from engaging. A tap with the hammer and its free'ed it up quite a lot. Not going to take it off tonight as its way to cold, but is much easier to get into gear. Will need to try and get a spanner down there to get it off and replace it, but its not in a very accessible area that's for sure!!!
  6. Hi Guys, For the past little while I have got a very stiff gear lever, there is a lot of resistance sliding it from side to side, so much so that if you pull it towards yourself and let it go, it slowly creeps back to the middle. It is also very very difficult to select reverse, normally if you pulled it right then pushed it left and into gear it would go, however these days it is almost impossible to get in. I don't think it is the pedal box as it is nice and light, not dropped etc, I think it might be the cables needing adjusted or something similar. Does anyone have any advise, diagram on adjusting the cables? Thanks Mark
  7. Just to add an Update to this thread. My car is a Seat Arosa TDI Sport. I normally fill up as soon as the light comes on, and fill it with 27 litres of Diesel. I normally manage 340-350miles between fill ups which gives me an average of 60mpg. However yesterday I was going on a long journey to Leeds and back and did the same as usual, filled it to the brim (27 litres) and managed to get 420miles driving at 60mph most of the way there, averaging an awesome 68mpg. Very happy with my little TDi
  8. What type of remap was it? Did you notice any difference in performance, fuel economy etc?
  9. Thanks for getting nack to me Jon, yeah I have checked the voltage feed and I get a constant 12v to the ECU pin, I wondered if it was activated so I deactivated it and looked at the 022 field and was not getting any values when I pressed my buttons, but then reactivated it and all the values were as they were, I have checked the brake pedal and clutch pedal switches and they are fine, just this first enable is not working. I was wondering if perhaps my ECU cannot work with it even though I am 99% completed as mine is a 51 plate Arosa but I would imagine it should since I have the read outs on the VAGCOM. Most peoples threads I have read say that theirs just worked straight away, I've tried driving at different speeds, holdng the SET button for a few seconds but still nothing due to this enable issue. Any other ideas would be great.
  10. I have used the 12v for the black wire and PIN 14 from the wiper stalk as it is ignition live but wondering if it is just a single burst of 12v or is a constant 12v to run. In the Bin Bits of Measuring Block 022 OFF - 000000 ON - 000010 SET - 000110 Res - 001010 However the enable should read 000001 i believe but have no idea why it is not working, anyone got any ideas? The component name has the G in it and the cars revs will drop from 2000rpm when the brake is pressed. Thanks Mark
  11. Hi guys, trying to put cruise control on my Arosa 1.4TDi but run into a problem, I have fitted my switches and all the correct binary numbers appear in module 022 measuring block all apart from the enable ( 00000X ) value, all the others work for ON ( 0000X0 ), Resume, Set, Off, Clutch and Brake. It is activated in VAGCOM and everything works bar this which makes it not work, I am getting a 12v supply into ECU pin 14 which I should. Any help would be awesome. Thanks Mark
  12. Haha, perhaps a little large
  13. Quite interested in getting some banded steel wheels on my Arosa, what are the best size to get and lets see your pictures. Thanks
  14. Mine is a TDi Sport, so would that make it a deep or shallow wheel well? Thanks
  15. Hi guys, I was wondering if the Sport rear bumper with the centre exhaust would fit a TDi Sport model? I assume that the bumper will fit but does anyone know if the rear exhaust section will marry up to the centre section? Thanks Mark
