  1. longlife are good prices and better than powerflow.
  2. you do realise if anything goes wrong at that speed its game over. and with your mates in the car? style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

    Powerflow.

if you can, try and get to longlife exhausts in cardiff. the manager knows his stuff and is very helpfull. did a really nice system on my old mk1 cab. did have a problem with it but they bent over backwards to sort it and thats what matters. having said that, if i was ever to buy a new exhaust for any car it would be a genuine item. they fit, they sound right, they last, they give no grief and they dont damage your car. perfect.
  4. glad your happy to get it back. personally i'd have asked the garage to write it off. why would you rather have a crash repaired car than a nice payout?.
  5. how much do you think air con ways on a gti? ive heard it adds alot of weight to other cars, and as weight is one of the things that make the lupo so good, is it an option the car could do without? your thoughts. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" />
  6. when did they swap. are all y reg gti's 5 speed? theres a nice silver one on autotrader for 6300.
  7. i think the parts would come to around a grand. maybe less. the chargers go quite cheap as they are from the coopers and are swapped in the dealers for the works upgraded item. they then sell them off. so its mainly labour costs your looking at. which is fine as long as you realise that to begin with. seems like a massive amount to spend when you can get a lupo gti for 5k. but then yours will piss on a gti i suppose. seems alot but if they are recomended and good at that kind of thing and its what you want then its worth it.
  8. ok first of all i know naff all about how a gearbox works or how this would work but i have an interesting question that ive been thinking about today. is it possible to take a 6 speed box and modify the 6th gear to be a longer ratio. what i'm thinking basically is, a 6 speed lupo has more or less the same gear ratio in 6th as a 5 speed does in 5th. giving them probably near enough the same top speed. this seems a bit pointless in a way. i cant really see where the benefit is, as surely you loose excelleration every time you change gear? anyway if you made a longer sixth gear. am i right in thinking a higher top speed could be achieved? say 145 mph? i started thinking about it when i thought about an old mate who put a 4+E box in a tuned mk1 gti and it gave it a really quick top speed. is this possible? is it expensive? and where would you go for the work?
  9. wonder how much that steering wheel would cost from the dealers. i like it, was the 3L available in this country??
  10. are right ok. i prefer the red cloth i think, although leather would be my fist choice its hard to find. did all gti's have red seatbets?
  11. looking around for gti's at the moment and have noticed that ome have seats with a kind of red centre and grey bolsters and big red panels on the doors. the some have al grey seats and black door cards? is this an age thing or could you choose the colours of the seats? also. leather seems well rare? i test drove 1 of the very last new lupos ever made in raven blue with air con and leather. the inside was stunning but cant see any for sale with leather now.

    hi i'm new.

went for the test drive. really nice car, brand new only 27miles on the clock, he said it was the last one available. what a spec too. raven blue heated leathers air con had pretty much every extra he said. the drive was good, i really like the gear change and the car felt quick, i didnt really boot it as i had my girlfreind and the salesman in the car. but i dropped it into 5th at 70 and it pulled well, very comfortable ride and the seats were lush. only thing i noticed was at 80 it was on 4k revs which is the same as a normal 5 spd. i kinda thought it would be lower being 6spd and that it would have got loads of mpg at around 80. still a nice car and a nice drive and very suprisingly it was spacious inside. they only offered me £1475 for my car though so i wont be p/x mine in just yet.

    gti mpg.

nobody's actually said what mpg they get then, after a search it came up that people are getting around 200 miles to a tank which works out in the low 30's surely they get more than this. i read that they can get 55mpg on a run or is that rubbish.
