Unfortunately the engine light has come on again, there's nothing wrong with how the car runs etc. Fault code as follows: 17911/P1503 - Load signal from Alternator Term. DF: Range/Performance / Implausible Signal Possible Causes Alternator faulty Voltage Regulator faulty Wiring and/or connections faulty Possible Solutions Check / Replace Alternator Check / Replace Voltage Regulator Check wiring and connections Check the fuse box that is in the battery tray, it might be burnt, the fuse or the complete plastic box (pretty common failure on Sharan because it carries so much electrical load). If so, change the complete fuse box, it is not too expensive fix if this is the cause. It won't be the alternator i shouldn't think as the battery charges up fine and the car runs fine and also the alternator light isn't on. Just incase it is alternator which i doubt il put the price down to £6000 O.N.O Found a brand new alternator on eurocarparts for £97 with the 30% offer they are currently doing so even if it were that its not too expensive to replace.

I hope it isn't that hideous when its released....

Someone already said that on page 1..... Is a good point thought but VW should definately make a diesel supermini (smaller than the polo) and i'd even consider buying a brand new one if it looked any good!
