  1. Fellow up owner her, iv got a high up in red with sports pack so very similar car to yourself. Iv been very impressed with mine, possibly one of the best handling cars iv driven, whilst on test drive the salesman had got me booting it round islands whilst shouting at me "give it more! give it more!" and it just clung on and then zipped up to national speed limit in no time. Also, after 12k miles in around 10 months all that its needed was a new bulb in the day running light and the heat shield on the exhaust had a slight rattle which VW fixed without question. Waiting and preying for an Up GT though and wish the sat-nav/audio thingy on the dash was a bit better but other then that, super cheap tax/insurance/fuel costs but good looking and a hoot to drive. Whats not to love!?!?
  2. Has anyone seen this car or know of its current location? Its my old lupo and i miss her =[ Few desciptive features of the car are when i had it is it had got some rather un-usual wheels made by platin, lowered on coilies, very loud hiden backbox and a pink front badge but no doubt all of this has changed!! Interior is black with red centres on the chairs, its a 1.4. Any help appreciated! =]
  3. Also is the rms of the sub rated per coil or as a whole? Im so confused! haha
  4. As far as i understand from crutchfield if i wire both coils of a 4 ohm sub i get 2 ohm resistance? So i need a amp stable at 2 ohm? Also how do i know if an amp is stable at 2 ohm's and will the rms of the sub be doubled if it goes from 4 ohm to 2 ohm?
  5. Wanna buy this sub here: http://www.audioassault.co.uk/Subs/10%22_Subwoofers/Rockford_Fosgate_P3SD410_Shallow_Subwoofer but im abit confused about the 2 sets of terminals on the subwoofer? How do you wire them up do they both just go to the same pair of terminals on the sub box or do i need 2 sets of terminals on the box or what? A bit confused any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Russ
  6. Hi, been looking at active subs as i carnt decide what to go for and i like the fact that i wont have an amp lieing around the boot or have to remove my spare wheel for it. Iv been told the mtx 8" active subs are ment to be good? Also looking at a vibe cbr 12 as i can pick one up for £85. Any advice or recommendations. Cheers, Russ
  7. Thats great mate. Thanks, Russ
  8. Just wondering which type of throttle body my car will have. Its a 2001 1.4 s 75bhp engine. Is it cable or fbw? Also for the gti/sport throttle body conversion onto a 1.4s what type of model and year is it easiest to sorce the correct throttle body and inlet manifold from? Cheers, Russ
  9. Also does that mean i have to run the whole loom threw my car? Is this a big job? Cheers, Russ
  10. Evilonion could you tell me what parts you priced up and how much they came 2? Cheers, Russ
  11. Also do i need the ignition barrel and keys or what? because my keys dont match atm and was wondering would the barrels from the polo gti doors and boot be the same as the lupo ones so i could get a full set of matchin locks and ignition barrel with keys? Cheers, Russ
  12. So can i keep my original clutch or not? :S lol As far as i understand so far i need engine, engine bay loom, some sort of exhaust system and ecu? Cheers, Russ
  13. Does this mean i can keep my original clutch pedal? Cheers, Russ
  14. How much you after for passanger door mate?
  15. Basically I think the one clutch pedal is cable and the one is hydrolic so the stabdard lupo one has to be replaced with a polo one, I think you can just swap the clutch pedal over but this won't affect you as you need a whole pedal box due to being am auto as standard. Cheers
  16. The engine drops straight onto the original mounts and gearbox and as far as I know you only need the engine loom, but the part that confuses me is the whole clutch pedal thing being different. How do you sort this out? Also how do the exhaust systems differ? Cheers
  17. Okay i tihnk custom mounts and the like are a bit out of my league so im now looking at the 1.4 or 1.6 conversions. Is there much more work involved in the 1.6 over the 1.4 and could any one give me a list of the parts required? Also can someone please clear up the whole engine bay loom or full interior loom? Cheers, Russ
  18. I dont know the differences what are the different power outputs and engine codes? What parts are required for the different conversions and how much am i lookin at money wise for parts as i can get my work done very cheaply. Cheers, Russ
  19. Right iv been lookin around the forums for a fair while and i have struggled to find any info on converting a 1.4 75bhp engined car to a 1.4 100bhp. Is there a lot more work involved in this than using a 1.6 polo engine (iv read that using the lupo gti engine is a LOT more work due to the wider front track ect). Also iv read that the 1.8t conversion is not a lot more work than the 1.6 gti engine if any but the lump will cost me a fair bit more. Also do i need to use the whole loom for the gti/1.8t engines rather than just the engine bay loom for the 1.4 100bhp engine? Any info would be really helpfull. Thanks, Russ. P.s please dont tell me to buy a new car or tell me about my insurance, i dont want to change my car iv got the car looking exactly how i want it and im in love with it So will not be changing it, i also want a car that will shock people and be a bit different (not that any of these conversions are ground breaking!!!) Cheers, Russ
  20. Right saw a photo of a car with a camo roof on the VAG vs JDM facebook photos. Was wondering what people thought of a pink camo on my roof which would include 2 shades of pink and black. Will show the kind of ideas my car and the camo in photos for all your opinions. CHeers, Russ Thats the sort of camo idea but with black in aswell. Cheers, Russ
  21. Right my cars a 1.4s with elctric nothing. haha. Brought it on boxing day and since then have had a custom back box fitted, ta coilovers and platin alloys and now its finally nearly finished and got it clean to take photos for once. Only other plans are GTI spoiler rear arches rolled and get the back down more. Then once iv paid this years insurance im gettin gti/sport brakes, gti rear beam/disks and a awsome arb and then workin on the engine which im hopin for around the 95-100bhp region with a 4-2-1 manifold, de-cat or 200cell, decent induction (thinkin bmc) and a remap at somewhere like rs tuning. Here some photos sorry about crap quality! Phone camera (N)
  22. Was it a slammed sport on some wide wheels? If so iv seen this lupo on the motorway past starcity a few weeks back was up for sale if i remember correctly. Cheers, Russ
  23. How do you mean set up right? And i only thought i would be more treble from replacing the standard speakers for co-axials because they have built in tweeters aswell rather then just a cone which i would assume is more suited to creating mid-bass? :S:S:S Iv been tryin to pick up on what i can on the forum when it comes to audio but tbh i aint got a bloody clue. lol Thanks for all the help so far guys. Cheers, Russ
  24. I'm puttin co axials in one of the speaker mountings because iv got a set of alpine ones liein arounnd at home and I got a 25 pounf voucher for amazon for my bday so am gonna put that towards more speakers but I don't wanna spend a lot on em so am I best gettin components or co axials if I'm not ampin them up
  25. Hi, iv recently purchased a sub and amp and am in the process of upgrading my door speakers. Basicslly as they are all standard at the moment i am very short of treble and was wondering can i put co-axial speakers behind the front and rear door panels without loosin the use of my tweeters in the dash? Also will this gain me more treble or has anyone else got any suggestions i am also amping up 6x9's in a stelth shelf later on when i can afford another amp. Cheers, Russ
