Anyone?

i bought this a few weeks ago from a breakers for my sport but after a long struggle it wont fit in my sport. its from a 1999 lupo 1.4s with 60k on the clock. looking for about £300ono for the lot. i paid £320 few weeks ago for it but looks like im going to have to find a sport box.

i will take pictures on weekend when i get a chance to give it a nice wash but heres some details for now. Jazz blue lupo sport 51plate tax november mot may mileage around 87k since ive owned from jan 2010 i have bought starter motor disc and pads all round cambelt kit door hinges door straps (passenger one gone again) window switches abs ring (not fitted yet) oil and filter change every 5k gearbox + driveshafts + gear linkage (done this week) Mods polybush front end lowered on ta technixs bmc dia induction smooth bootlid with popper bumperstrips removed headlights blue inside rear arches rolled and flared wheels steffan rs 8x14 175/50/14 fronts 9x14 195/45/14 rears gloss white dish with matt black spokes not best condition as i done them myself and i havnt put in new studs round the outside yet audio kenwood cd/ipod headunit jbl gt5 components jbl gto 2 channel amp for components 2 kenwood 10" subs in custom ported box lanzar vibe 2 channel amp for subs bad points airbag light on from dodgy connection i think abs light on but will be sorted when i fit new abs ring few dings from them unconsiderate people in carparks scratch across drivers sill from clipping curb little scratch on bonnet and few stone chips will take pictures of all this on weekend

I've found out there's two types of linkages for lupo single cable and double cable and my sports a double but the gearbox I've fitted is single so if I change the cars gear linkage to single it would work right?

if i get the gear linkage from a 1.4s do you think this will fix my problem and save me getting another new box?

i tried fitting a gearbox off a 1.4s in my sport today it fits all in place except from 2 problems the gear linkage rod that comes out the box is too long and the 1.4s box dont have the two holes for the gear linkage to bolt to. Anyone fitted one before? i can post pictures if that would help

whats your budget and what model 1.4 u looking for?

Condition of gearbox and milage? Also where you located?

im not sure i didnt try i just ran a nice long bit of speaker wire instead. ive been trying to look for a nice button for mine, whats the audi button like and what audi it from?

Thats the same kit as what i got but i paid about a tenner and it was called universal popper or something. The button for it aint that good and the wires they supply aint no where near long enough.

A longer gearbox mite come in handy for motorway driving Ive been doing lately. So the 1.4s ones defentely fit?

Refurbed ones are like £400+ How much difference is the ratio is it shorter or longer?

I've started lookin for a new gearbox as mine has broke on my lupo sport and was wondering wether it has to be off another sport or if a 1.4s is just the same?

how much did you want for the box if he does drop out? do you have black headlining and carpet aswel?

how much for gearbox with shafts? wot colour is gti interior and how much?

if i start the engine and put it in gear the speedo goes up to 20mph and makes some sort of whining noise and oil comes out gearbox

just filled car up at petrol station then when i got in a pulled off it started moving then all of a sudden just revving no movement then the gearstick went into everygear without needing the clutch and it just revs. i dont think the problems the clutch because if i start the car in gear it dont stall which leads me to think its either gearbox or gearbox selector. when a gearbox goes does it make any sort of noise or anything?

ive got ta techniks all the way down to the bottom(120mm?) and i havnt got any driveshaft problems although i did have to take anti roll bar off as that was hitting the chassis.

mines been doing that recently then this morning it didnt start at all so i got some sandpaper cleaned up the terminals on battery and the earth on the gearbox and now it starts first time. give that a try see if it helps

i had a go at painting my steffan rs the other day it was my first time painting so didnt come out that good but not bad for first try. Its a very poor pic as it was from my fone from my bedroom window but will take better ones at some point.
