  1. Right, here's an update for anyone doing a search. I've just fitted a new wiper switch and it's solved the problem. (intermintent will not work but I fancy that is a faulty switch and I'm not sure if I can be bothered to take it back and do it all over again) Just a couple of differences was the nut holding the steering wheel on.....on my 2000 model Sdi 1.7 this was held on with a flanged nut NOT a Torx T55 which I assume is for later models...no drama it's just needs a large socket on it probably a 25mm or maybe 24mm not sure all I had was an 15/16th which did it Anyway, painfree and silent motoring from now on Kate
  2. ........when you can always find a parking space and laugh when you leave your space and watch another car TRY to get in ........when you have to reconnect the washer tube to the rear washwipe for the 5th time! ........when you cringe as you lower your windows and hear them crunch against the door straps (well I think it's that anyway)
  3. I laugh from start to finish...I know it's often childish in it's humour but that suits me fine. The only other programme that makes me laugh so much is Californication.
  4. Thanks for replying Hazy sounds like we have the same problem, I just have to go over the slightest bump or knock the steering wheel and the wipers would start......last night I took the cover off the steering column and disconnected the switch to try and pin down the problem. The wipers would not activate once the switch was disconnected so I'm fairly sure it's the switch and not the central control unit or earth. I'll let you know how I get on......bit jumpy about the airbag as they are effectively 9 year old pyrotechnics and I don't really want them going off in my face. My alternative is to create a master switch through the fuse box terminals to isolate the wipers until I need them.....bit of a bodge though
  5. Hi everyone, I'm new here but love the Forum and am so pleased to have found you all. My Little Lupo's problem started with the rear wiper coming on on it's own...eventually it would go off but now once the rear has come on the front wipers join in the wiping fun. The only way I can stop this is by gently pushing forward the wash/wipe switch until the rear washer activates. Has anyone had this problem.....I should imagine it's a new wiper switch or is it a cpu problem. If it is a switch is it something I could do myself........I do everything else. Incidently, I've disconnected the rear wiper as it was driving me to distraction but obviously have to keep the fronts working. Thanks Kate
