  2. Thank you, They are the OZ Superturismos (Gen 1) that were used on the Lupo GTI Cup Cars back in the day! Most likely will have them refurbished with the wording altered to "Volkswagen Racing" to make them more fitting to the car's era. The center caps will also likely be changed to the chrome/black Volkswagen logo, similar to what the MK4 R32 Aristo wheel has.
  3. My little TDi is slowly oxidising. An A2 beckons. Ugly little things.....
  4. I like the new wheels... 👍🏻

  6. Few weeks behind on these updates, so here goes Over the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend, the sun decided to come out at last and dry out the roads, which gave me the opportunity to play with the sport! Probably completed best part of 250 miles over the few days, certainly blew the cobwebs off that's for sure! Also gave me the chance to properly use the freshly built engine to its full potential, Sully has certainly built some masterpiece, couldn't be happier! A matter of days later, the Sport was taken to Jack @ Motion Fabrication for a custom Kam Racing exhaust system. The system was modified to fit the Sport, including the addition of a 16" centre silencer to reduce noise & swapping the tip back to the OEM Sport one. It's safe to say that he did a fantastic job; the tip is perfectly positioned in the centre cutout, so you would never know that it had a modified exhaust from the outside! Sounds absolutely incredible, the centre silencer achieving the ideal balance between engine roar and exhaust rasp with a bonus being the manifold is gorgeous! I've kept the old exhaust that Jack took out of the car in case I decide to put it back in stock. I've driven 1000+ miles in it since the exhaust was installed, which is ridiculous for me, but I just can't get over how great it sounds! Something I never thought I'd say: the SDI was thrown in the garage for literally two weeks while I "dailyed" the sport. Really fantastic every day, apart from the fuel bill. The car is really starting to come together now, the next major task on the list is to refresh the rear beam, suspension and brakes, which should get it really tight to drive. 8. I've encountered a few. So much so I keep spares.
  9. Oh, everyone is talking about the pedal not the box. I'm being thick. Thought you meant the pedal box... It's like how could it- because it can't. But yeah the pedal breaks on that little tab that sticks out. Lots of weld needed. Surprising that they go TBH. Only ever encountered one on a Bora.
  10. They go exactly like mk4 golfs and TTs.
  11. I got mine from LED Perf, best thing I ever done regarding headlights. More or less plug and play, cut and splice 2 wires thats all.
  12. I believe @CLAYTONJONESis your man for this
  13. Can anybody shed any info on changing my headlight bulbs to LED bulbs?? What Harness i need etc Iam not on Social Media alot so theres probably something on here some where... I just need bit of help...
  14. They are? How do they break? The master is bolted through the firewall? With the cable version, it's usually the weld(s) between the clutch cable bracket and the main bit that snaps.
  15. TRWs distributor are pretty helpful if you contact them, it's ZF something they have an online contact form.
  16. Having trawled through the many listings on Autodoc, it appears TRW do a Gti specific front shock absorber. Model number JGM185T, just in case this helps anyone in the future.
  17. You're probably right actually. But I think the rate will be very close, mainly because the weight over the front wheels is near enough identical to most other 4cyl petrol models. Diesels are much heavier and need stiffer shocks (the coils are thicker too, I found out to my cost of a wasted weekend).
  18. At least hydraulic clutch pedal cars are not afflicted with pedal box failure. Much more difficult to fix. There's even a dedicated thread on the subject. I'd take your old one to your nearest workshop/garage repair place along with a 6 pack of beer. It'll take 30 seconds to weld it.
  19. Thanks for the reply. It appears that there's no OE spec aftermarket damper specifically for a Gti, though. There's plenty for the other models, but I was under the belief that the Gti uses a specific damping rate that was different to the other models. Am I wrong with this? Thanks again.
  20. Also why are these pedals or pedal boxes that arent already fitted to a car non existant 😅
  21. This sounds like whats happened with the look of my pedal. Had to bodge it with ties to get it home 😅
  22. Assuming the metal tab let go and the cylinder linkage now pushes through the pedal? Same thing happened to mine, had it welded back on, good to go. Common vw problem apparently
  23. Earlier
  24. Have a 03 1.4 tdi sport. Clutch pedal went the other day. Been given this (6N2721321K) part number by VW, but cant seem to find one. Anyone know where to get a replacement or have one available to purchase? Or know a good enough replacement pedal? Can't seem to find the right shape with the slave cylinder linkage on the correct side.
  25. There are loads of OEM equivalent alternatives. Polo? Seat? Skoda? Don't forget that the big brands simply manufacture for the likes of VAG. It doesn't need a VW stamp on it. In fact even some Nissans and Fords use the exact same part.
  26. Anyone? Having looked about, it seems these things are difficult to keep on the road should you want to keep the car standard.
