  1. After 18 months of owning my Mk2 Arosa S I've decided it's time for something slightly faster. I managed to sell it for £900 which is what i paid for it back in 2013. Great little car cheap to own and run I would recommend to anyone. I've always wanted a Clio SPORT 172 and got offered a phase 1 for just £950 so that's my new project. I must say that this is a great forum with lots of helpful members and It's enabled me to complete tasks on my Arosa on several occasions.
  2. The 1.0 AUC engine code has an EGR valve (PART NUMBER 030131503F which retails at almost £200) which are prone to getting blocked, the last of the AROSA had the 1.0 AUD engine which doesn't run an egr valve.
  3. it will be the door lock, very common issue on VAG cars from about 1998. There is a door lock switch built inside the lock which if operating correctly will turn on the interior light and set the buzzer off within the instrument panel if lights are left on. There are three different part numbers for the driver's door for the RHD market with a change of part number in mid 2002 for models with central locking.
  4. These are still supplied genuine from SEAT (6H0863831G) at £29.29 including VAT. You will also need 13 fixing clips (1H5863849A01C) at £1.33 each
  5. Hi I have a 2001 Arosa S witht the light grey interior and really would prefer to change it to a black interior. I know this would require seats, door cards and dash/centre console all to be replaced. Is anyone looking to sell or know of anyone who's stripped out their interior and would want to sell for a reasonable price? Thanks
  6. The current price for these switches including VAT is £23.53 each. Normally available from VW UK within 48hours
  7. I have a 2001 Arosa S 1.0mpi in Silver which I want to sell. It's been a great fun little car for commuting in but now would prefer something bigger. I'm just not sure what to value the car at, as reading through ebay, gumtree, autotrader etc there seems to be a big divide on price. I've seen them listed for anywhere between £600 - £1500 depending on condition and history Here's some info on the car 2001 1.0 MPI "S" model Metallic silver Full Service history- Serviced at Wiltshire & Son's SEAT of Farnham Mot till April 2015- MOT done at SMC SEAT of Aldershot 67000 MILES Cambelt done in 2012 Generally good condition, although front bumper is a little beat up(previous owner was an old lady) door cards and front seats need a valet as a little dirty(Cream interior) Some wear and tear on paint for a 13 year old car. 14" Alloy wheels -not kerbed All four tyres replaced within the last 6 months-good as new HIFLY HF201 Had genuine leads and plugs fitted October 2013 Oil change last done in April 2014 with genuine filter Issue with N/S electric window- The motor clicks from both switches but won't move, a technician advised it may well be the window seal sticking to the glass. It seems related to the ambient temperature and has worked off and on for last few months It's a true and honest little car garaged every night. Located in Surrey
  8. If the VW parts also fit a SEAT then yes,if they only fit a VW then it's what VW UK class as brand inhibited and therefore they wont supply to a SEAT dealership. Thankfully I can obtain VW parts from my local TPS

    rear wiper

i used a 3C chassis VW PASSAT estate rear blade 3C9955425 it's shorter than the POLO rear blade and easily misses the tail gate spoiler. This blade is approx 280mm compared to 335mm of the POLO type. It can be supplied by any VW or SEAT dealership for about £8+VAT.
  10. I tried the POLO 9N rear wiper setup on my Arosa but the blade was too long and wiped the tail gate between the glass and high level brake light, after much searching on ETKA (VW GROUP parts catalogue) I found a much shorter blade with the same type of fitting. If you have a tailgate spoiler the setup I chose will not hit the spoiler or require the blade to be cut down. I went for a 3C9 955 425 as used on the 3C chassis VW PASSAT estate and 1P chassis LEON. It's 280mm long which is roughly 55mm shorter than the POLO mod type. It's the same length as the standard type wiper blade used on the LUPO & AROSA models from factory. I fitted before going out in the downpours we've been having and cleared the screen without any issues or horrible noise. I used the following which can be ordered from any VW or SEAT dealership Wiper Arm - 6Q6 955 707C Cap - 6Q6 955 435A Wiperblade - 3C9 955 425
  11. The correct length of both blades for an Arosa as listed on ETKA is 475mm (19").The offside has a spoiler and the nearside blade is curved to allow for the curve of the screen. I have just upgraded my blades to Genuine VW aeroset upgrades for a 6n chassis polo. The VAG number is 6N0998002 and retail at £26+vat. The previous owner had fitted the Valeo aero conversion set but these looked of poor quality. They also missed a large patch on the offside direct in my eyeline which was the result of a worn wiper arm.

  14. I have a 2001 facelift Arosa, which has an issue with the rear wash wipe. Water does make it to the rear jet and spray but with low pressure onto the rear screen but I've noticed after spraying onto the screen a pool of screenwash appears halfway along the nearside sill and onto the floor. It's as if water can be sprayed onto the scrren but the jet is blocked and the screenwash attempts to return back along the pipes. The inside of the car is bone dry with no wet seats, wet rear carpet, or wet spare wheel well. I understand there is a joint in the pipes under the cubby hole trim on the nearside, but no signs of a leak there. Any ideas?
  15. Well after a week of ownership I've sorted out several small issues. 1-Driver's side wiper arm needed replacing as the blade was missing a large patch of the screen due to a lack of preesure from the spring on the arm. 2-Misfire caused by poor quality HT leads, replaced with Genuine VAG leads and spark plugs 3-Heater control panel not lighting up- an easy fix thanks to a 36p QUANTUM 1.2w bulb Thankfully I can obtain genuine VAG parts at a great price as I work for my local SEAT dealership as workshop parts advisor.
