sandman
Some of you may have seen the pics I posted in the hello thread but thought I would statrt a build/about thread as well now I've started to crack on with the workAfter my old polo bread van failed its MOT ij epic style last month I started looking for a cheap car and found a 1.4 lupo on ebay.I was a bit dubious at first as it was listed as "salvage repairable" but after having a proper look decided it would be a bit of a challange to have a go at getting it back on the road.Managed to bag the car for £350.First pictures arnt the best as they are the ones from the ebay listingpretty straight car apart from this bitManaged to find a local recovery guy to deliverthe car the 15 odd miles for £40So the first job was to start the strip down.Spent the first day just figuring out how best to go about things and doing a bit of hunting about to find the info I wanted befor I just went at it with no clueOrdered a wing from a breakers which set me back £60 inc deliveryFirst day of good weather today and have got a bit further alongDrivers wing is now gone as is the bumper and the front cross memberSo now need to track downfront cross memberFront bumperpanel from below the radiaor grillI was thinking of trying to straighten out the front cross member but then thought probably just as well to get another one.All in all pleased with my progress so far. I'm not that mechanicaly minded but its been pretty much a case of unbolting bits. Now all I need to do is find a light blue car in a breakers thats been back ended so I can get the other bits I need as I'm on a tight budget after buying the car

sandman
Nothing really to update the last couple of weeks due to lack of funds amongst other thingsWell applied for the VIC and spoke to VOSA today to be told they are working about a week behindGave the car a wash yesterday and hovered out the interior.I've been driving rat styled cars the last 5 years or so and never bothered about washing or cleaning at all unless you count emptying out old mcdonaldscartons etcLooking at a couple of induction kits on ebay atmI know it probably wont add to power/performance at all and in a toss up between ramair K&N and pipercross.Ramair being the cheapest but K&N being the better name in my experience. sandman
Spent 8 hours today getting the black crud off then washing and waxing.Scary when thats more time in one day than I've spent cleaning my last 4 cars over nearly 5 years. I forgot how much I actually like the smell of auto glymUsed a bot load of tar remover and two old loyalty cards to get all the gunk offmmm shinyThere aint much space in the back yard so the dog kennel had to be put to one sideAnd I've got a name for it now.Introducing NudgeNeed to get those other two alloys done I thinkOpinions?
