HalKK
So my engine is playing up a little, had a look an I recon I just been some new HT leads; the old ones look pretty worn. Anyone recommend decent ones and where to get them from. Does it make a difference if you get more expensive ones? If so what?

danoid
I'd personally go with VW own ones. They are designed for the car and will last. I bought some cheap ones from ECP and simply was not man enough, seemed alright for a few months then meh.Went and bought some genuine ones and been fine for 2-3 years now.Pay cheap, pay twice. But it all depends though, I've just bought a camshaft sensor for £20 and ECP whereas vw was £95. My innerself is saying buy VW own but as it's a price difference £75 I'm going the cheaper option. When I bought the leads there was only £20 difference between non genuine and genuine, so up to your budget really!
HalKK
Yea man I wouldn't have done for the cheap ones! Just wanted to know the difference between the medium one and more expensive ones. Thanks for the reply though
HalKK
are their any differences in the thicker cables? One of my friends said it made a big difference to his old golf, but then I have read on other sites that it wont make much difference on a standard engine? danoid
I highly doubt it, the difference between cheap and quality is probably an extra 1-2mm thickness, but whether thats better cables inside or just better rubber i'm not sure. You could always try GSF Premium ones as thats either genuine stuff or very close and should be slightly cheaper
Adam Young
I got mine from eurocarpars for 32 quid, they're absolutely great and fixed my juddering / misfiring. You can find my thread on it in here
