Archie
So following from my last thread, my mrs' Lupo GTI has multiple warning lights on.Started with ABS as it needs to be out for its MOT, got the old P1649 code, so sent the unit off to be reconditioned, unit returns, fault still current and battery drained again (Was draining prior to this but hadnt drained during the period the computer was absent)EML is on for CTS, and Airbag for seat wiring.I have access to a Bosch Diagnostic, and occasionaly a VW dealer one.I've got a wiring fault on the case here, just looking to see if anyones been in a similar situation before and could point me to some possibilities to save me some time.Cheers. Silver!
Have you had the alternator checked. The battery should read 13v + across the terminals with engine running.
CasperGTI
Iirc the ABS and airbag lights will come on if the battery is below 11v. We have seen before that a faulty convenience module was causing battery drain.I have a whole ABS pump and Ecu sat in my garage if it comes to it.John
Archie
Done an alternator/charge check on it when i replaced the battery.Spent Saturday night with a couple of beers and my powerprobe checking things over.Cleaned up some connections, replaces a couple of fuses that had corrosion on the blades. Now have full access to the ABS computer, the handbrake/low fluid light no longer flashes and the EML went out also.So i just have to repair the wiring at the NSF sensor (Changed the sensor with a spare for peace of mind)Left the battery connected and left the car in work overnight and it started 1st turn.Still not 100% convinced how it'd be after sitting a few days out of useConsidering removing the 'Sigma' alarm to rule that out as well.
